Hi,
I am trying to download files from a datagrid but am using a simple button to test if the codes work. The codes displays the download window but it is downloading my aspx file instead of my word document. I hope u could help me solve this error.

You might want to add something like
Response.AddHeader( "Content-Disposition", "attachment;filename="testingFile.doc" ) you your headers to specify the download name.

Is there any way to Read a Text File directly from its URL like http://www.codeproject.com/links.txt.....
If I download Text File on my local system then its Quiet easy to Read this file using Stream Reader object. But I want to read Text File without downloading it.

in one of my project i have to download some files in a particular folder from server to client machine. for that i have craeted an object of the directory and iterated through the files using the file system object. and set the hyperlink for each files to download. this code works very niceny in my pc and when i upload this program to server, and access the application using a browser i am unable to download the file. i can see the name of the files ans hyperlink but i can't download.
does anybody had similar experience. plese give any alternative methods.
i have tried response.redirect() also ; but not working.
can u give any example of download method of webclient object.
pls help thanks in advance.

I hope I am in the right forum. My data type column from the table ClockIn_Date is DateTime. The dropdownlist seems to select distinct date+time. I want to only select distinct the date and not inclusive of the time. What is the correct sql statement?
SELECT DISTINCT ClockIn_Date<br />
FROM dbo.Stud_ClockIn

Do not provide height and width of the image. It will appear in its original size iteself.

How do you mean in normal windows based forms? You'll need to hold some record somewhere of the already used codes and write a bit of logic to create your code...

im using ASP.Net 2.0, pretty new to it so not quite sure. im not using the sqldatasource controls. im binding a gridview with a dataset. so id have to first check the dataset? im not to sure. but i want to know if theres an example to generate the ID i was talking about.
