What are you holding in a DB table this big? Can you not normalise it in any way?
|
|
|
|
|
Just tell me, Can or cannot?
|

Why on earth would you need more than 255 fields? It sounds as your database design is seriously flawed...

Are you doing this at work from behind a company firewall? Is so that could be the problem. I have had trouble in the past with that sort of thing.

I never got around the problem, and then the project got dropped anyway.
It was an experiment a couple of years ago using Microsoft's MapPoint web service.

Hello,
Please visit the following url:
http://www.istockphoto.com/file_search.php?action=file&text=car&filetypeID=&x=0&y=0
You will see a list of images.
When you place the mouse over an image a bigger version of that image appears with some extra information.
This is maybe the fastest and cleanest I ever saw.
Can someone explain me how to create this?
Thanks,
Miguel

When the mouse pointer moves over an image, put an absolutely positioned element next to the pointer. Put the information and the image in the element.

Hi Everybody,
I am trying to work in w3c validation for one of the page.
But w3c validation says that the page is having an error like element "EMBED" undefined .
B'coz i have try to run a flash movie. The code is as follows...
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,0,0" width="427" height="193" id="Scroll1" align="middle">
<param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
<param name="movie" value="tour/banner.swf" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff" /><embed src="tour/banner.swf" quality="high" bgcolor="#ffffff" width="427" height="165" name="Scroll1" align="middle" allowscriptaccess="sameDomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" />
Pls anyone help me, how can i rectify this error. Is there any way to correct this error for going to pass the w3 validation for that particular page.
Its really very serious and very urgent to me. I had tried n times for rectifying this error. But there is no solution.
Advanced thanks for valuable solution for this problem

I am having the same problem myself at the moment. It is due to the fact that the <embed /> tag has been depreciated by the W3C, with out providing decent alternative for embedding flash files.
I have come accross this javascript solution called SWFObject http://blog.deconcept.com/swfobject/[^]
I have not tried it yet, but plan to later today. If you try it, let me know what you think.

Wow, that article is by Elizabeth Castro! I learned HTML back in 1999 from her book. If it wasn't for her I would probably still be a waiter.
Thanks for the link, its an interesting article.

Hi I am having some trouble tryin to get the C drive address of each client that uses my web application. There is an option of one of my web pages to save the results on the page to a word document this works ok but when the client uses it they can only save the word doc to the server hard drive. Im using this code to access the server C drive path Server.MapPath("."). so im just wondering if anyone has any idea how to allow each client to save files to the client pc they are currently on. Thanks in advance

I have a problem with a web page I am working on, which only happens in Firefox 1.0.7. In other versions of Firefox it is fine, and IE and Opera do not display the problem either.
Basically I have an image within a div tag in the top left of the page, and in 1.0.7, a 10px gap appears above the image.
I have searched for a solution to this on Google, and everywhere I can think of. I found mentions of a css bug in 1.0.7 which causes DIV tags to be rendered bigger than their specified height, and for the content to appear outside the DIV. However, I could not find any solutions for this problem.
The page is at www.ortussearch.com/default2.aspx if anyone would like to take a look. The image in question is the logo in the top left.
Any suggestions would be welcome, as I am pulling my haor out with this.

Get your users to upgrade to a working version of firefox...

My client seemed all smug with his web savvy when he announced to me that he used Firefox, and that there was a problem with the layout in it - implying I hadn't tested the site in Firefox.
After doing some research, I was able to correctly predict that he was running 1.0.7, and explain to him that it was an out of date version, and the majority of Firefox users would be running the most recent version. He has since told me not to worry about the bug, but I would still like to crack it because it is just annoying, and you never know when it might crop up again on a future job.
