Read the XML into a Dataset, and then update Oracle from the Dataset using .NET's Oracle Data Provider.

That doesn't mean anything in a forum environment...

You'll have to use a 3rd party component to load and display the drawing. I don't know of anything that can do this myself, but it shouldn't ge too hard to find with a simple Google search. Another option would be to check on AutoDesk's Developer site to see if there are any options for you.

There's no such thing as "urgent" in a forum environment like this. This is an all volunteer effort here so everyone answers questions when they can, not when you want them to.
There isn't enough information, nor have you really asked a question, to really give you any kind of an accurate answer. But, it sounds like all you need to do is add an OpenFileDialog to your form, then set it's properties in the Button Click event and show it. When the dialog returns, get the filename from it and do whatever you need to do with that information.

in dotmatrix printer how to set paper size using code
so after printing the paper should scroll up to tearof position.

This is normally a function of the printer. Check with the documentation on the printer to see if it is supported and how to set it up, if needed.

This is easily done with Custom Actions[^] in your deployment project.

either I'm dumb or it's not easy.. If I'm an idiot, ok by me but I find it trouble some to go trhough all of that just to add a password/serial key dialouge.
is there an easier way. he he he. just trying my luck because I've been goin' round in circles.
thank you for the reply and I;ve read through the articles.

The Installer project that comes in VS is barebones. There is no "easier way", other than using a different installer application, like InstallShield or Wise for Windows Installer.

is there way to make the image like button effect when u click on it, it will act like it's been pressed?? like a bit 3d like that...

If you take a screenshot of a button pressed and not pressed, you'll see it's pretty simple to draw. There are two grays, one for the topleft and one for the bottom right. When pressed, the colors swap.

You just swap them while the button is being held down and then swap back when it is let up.

Im sorry I dont have an example but it would be something like this:
NormalImage
PressedImage
If MouseDown In Image Control
ImageControl.Image = PressedImage
Endif
then when the mouse is let back up
ImageControl.Image = NormalImage

Hi all, I have this mdi application that I'm creating
This MDI application has 2 MDI Child.
Everytime I do the show() on each of the child form, it will flickers badly since I have a lot of controls on my child forms. How do I make them draw on the background first and show it when it's done ??
To give you all the idea with what i mean, think about when you first start windows. It will have the loading screen and after it's done loading, the shortcuts on your your desktop will appear in a very manner :P.
Thank you guys

You can turn on double buffering, but you can't make your control paint themselves before they paint themselves, they won't draw until a WM_PAINT message occurs.

Have you considered using more forms with less controls on each? Too many controls on a single form is, as a general rule of thumb, poor design practice.

Stupid question I'm sure, but although I can easily copy a form's code across projects, I can't figure out how to copy the design element of the form. I've tried copying foo.resx and foo.designer.vb, but neither of them seem to bring up the designed form.

Try copying the InitializeComponent() along with the files you specified ?
