c.ValueMember = "cpt_icd_mapping";
c.DisplayMember = "icd_code";
c.DataSource = ds.Tables[0].DefaultView;
c.Items.Insert(0,"ICD");

I am trying to edit a globalized resource file, by creating a new resource file and overwriting the old one. But I get an error:
<--Error-->
"An unhandled exception of type 'System.IO.IOException' occurred in mscorlib.dll
Additional information: The process cannot access the file "Resources\resource.en-US.resources" because it is being used by another process."
<--End Error-->
I understand I am using the current file, but I try to release the resources first. Here is my code: Thanks for any help!!
if(File.Exists("Resources\\resource." + langID + ".resources");)
{
rm.ReleaseAllResources();
//bombs out here after I added this delete line
File.Delete("Resources\\resource." + langID + ".resources");
}
while(File.Exists("Resources\\resource." + langID + ".resources"))
{
}
//Used to bomb out here anyway with the same error
IResourceWriter writer = new ResourceWriter("Resources\\resource." + langID + ".resources");

Hello everyone.
I'm currently developing a winforms application in C# which adds
multiple users to an OranizationalUnit with one mouse click. Also the
homedirectory is set using the System.directoryservices namespace.
Everything works fine.
Now i need to enter the Terminal Server User Profile Path and Local
Path. I've been surfing around the web for a while and found one
article from a user named SG.
This is what I made of it:
private TSUSEREXLib.IADsTSUserEx m_TsUser; <br />
private DirectoryEntry m_DirectoryEntry; <br />
<br />
<br />
ActiveDs.IADsUser iADsUser = (ActiveDs.IADsUser) m_DirectoryEntry.NativeADObject; <br />
m_TsUser = (TSUSEREXLib.IADsTSUserEx) iADsUser;
On the last line, it throws an exeption: "specified cast is not valid".
The DirectoryEntry, m_DirectoryEntry, is created this way:
objUser = objOU.Children.Add(strUser, "user"); <br />
objUser.Properties["displayName"].Add(strDisplayName); <br />
objUser.Properties["userPrincipalName"].Add(strUserPrincipalName); <br />
objUser.Properties["givenName"].Add(FirstName); <br />
objUser.Properties["sn"].Add(Lastname); <br />
objUser.Properties["sAMAccountName"].Add(Username); <br />
objUser.Properties["homeDirectory"].Add(@"c:\test"); <br />
objUser.Properties["homeDrive"].Add(@"y:"); <br />
<br />
objUser.CommitChanges();
objUser is then used to bind to TSUSEREXLib.IADsTSUserEx. Can some one
explain to me why I get the exception thrown? Or even better, does
someone have a better example of how to use IADsTSUserEx in C#/VB.net?
Many thanks

Hi,
Did you installed the framework which comes with the studio ? If no then the studio might not be compatible with the framework.

Hi,
If you have multiple frameworks installed, then also such kind of errors come. BTW which type of Application you are facing problem in ? I guess ASP .Net. If yes please check which version of ASP.Net engine is currently active on the IIS.
use aspnet_regiis.exe for this. but please read all the options available in the same command before running it. you might uninstall the wrong version increasing your problems.

Hi anybody know Which Platforms supported by Dot Net ?
Whether it will support linux?
Thanks in advance
|
|
|
|
|
The .NET framwork can be supported by any platform that has an implementation.
For Linux, you have the MONO implementation.

The .NET Framework is Windows only. It is the name of Microsoft's implementation of the Common Language Infrastructure. You can find more on it here[^].
Mono is a seperate implementation for Linux.

Hi,
I'm using .NET framework 2. I have a config which uses the file attribute like so:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<configuration>
<appSettings
file="External.config" >
</appSettings>
</configuration>
and External.config contains all my app settings. When I update some settings and write them back using the Configuration.Save method, all the settings get written to the app.config and not the External.config. Is this by design or is there an option I've missed?
thanks,
John

In the deployment project of my application, in the file system property, I have added a "custom folder" which I want to use for application data that may or may not be different than the application folder. Both "application folder" and my "custom folder" have the same default location. The "application folder" has a read-only dynamic property called TARGETDIR and my "custom folder" was given a dynamic property of DATADIR.
If all is left alone, the setup will create all subdirectories in the right place.
However, how can I allow the user to specify and alter the DATADIR dynamic property by specifying a different directory other than the default location in the same way as it is done in the user interface for the application "Installation Folder" during setup?

How will you create a 64–bit application using Visual Studio .NET 2003?
|
|
|
|
|
You won't. It's not supported.
Only the .NET Framework 2.0 supports targeting 64-bit platforms. And, no, you can't use the .NET Framework 2.0 with Visual Studio.NET 2003.

actually you can use 2.0 net framework I have it running nicely on my computer and i am using sp2 xp and visual basic 2003.net
|
|
|
|
|
You can use the .NET Framework 2.0 to RUN your application if it was compiled under VS.NET 2003. VS.NET 2003 will NOT use the compilers in .NET Framework 2.0. If you don't have VS.NET 2005, the only way to get your code compiled under .NET 2.0, without using a 3rd party IDE, is to comple it from the command line.

Hi,
I'm developping a .NET Assembly in 2 versions. This Assembly is used by 12 applications. These applications are installed on the same machine. Some of these applications need the Assembly version 1.0 and some need the Assembly version 2.0. Can someone tell me how to tell the different applications which version of the Assembly they must use and how to install the different versions of the Assembly so they can be bound by the CLR.
