Asking the same question again and again until yoiu find someone to write it for you is very rude.
All you have to do is Google for it, study the code samples you find, then write the code yourself. VB6 isn't too different from VB.NET. If you know VB.NET, converting the code form VB6 should be very easy.

I am trying to install a window service through a batch file.
Now i dont want to execyte a batch file, instead i want to write whatever is in the batch file to a command prompt and then execute
Reason is that there are certain variable that will be avaliable only during runtime.
How can we write a command in the command window and execute that.

I assume you want to write a .NET program to do this
Have you thought of parsing the batch file and using the appactivate method and sendkeys method?
It wouldn't be the fastest or most efficient way of doing it, but it could work.
<br />
appactivate(ProcessID)<br />
<br />
My.Computer.Keyboard.SendKeys("Keys here", WaitBooleanHere)<br />
I'm not dumb I just have a huge command of thouroughly usless infromation.

Try this, this is what i have tried.
Dim strBatchFilrPath As String = c:\batchfile.bat
Dim procCMD As New System.Diagnostics.ProcessStartInfo("CMD.exe")
procCMD.UseShellExecute = False
procCMD.RedirectStandardOutput = True
procCMD.RedirectStandardInput = True
procCMD.RedirectStandardError = True
Dim proc As System.Diagnostics.Process = System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(procCMD)
Dim strm As System.IO.StreamReader = System.IO.File.OpenText(strBatchFilrPath)
Dim sOut As System.IO.StreamReader = proc.StandardOutput
Dim sIn As System.IO.StreamWriter = proc.StandardInput
' Write each line of the batch file to standard input
While (strm.Peek <> -1)
sIn.WriteLine(strm.ReadLine)
End While
strm.Close()
Dim stEchoFmt As String = "# {0} run successfully. Exiting"
sIn.WriteLine(String.Format(stEchoFmt, strBatchFilrPath))
sIn.WriteLine("EXIT")
' Close the process
proc.Close()
Dim results As String = sOut.ReadToEnd.Trim
' Close the io Streams;
sIn.Close()
sOut.Close()

I have an existing Application in vb, which use dao 3.5 to connect Access 97.
On Updation of my database from Access 97 to Access 2003. i got the error "UnRecognized Database Format".
I tried with ADO and database is working well. But i have to use DAO. For this, I Coverted my refernece to dao 3.6 library. But even then i am facing the same error.
Please suggest me a solution for this....
Thanks

IMHO, ADO would be the much more preferred method when using databases, fullstop.

DAO died a long time ago. Even the latest version (3.6 I believe) won't work with an Access 2003 database. You'll either have to go back to Access 97, or 2000 (I think!), or you'll have to switch to ADO if you want to use Access 2003.

Thanks for ur reply.
It means there is no way to connect access 2003 using DAO. I have to go for ADO.

Your code should look something like this:
Dim devenvProccess As Process = New Process()
devenvProccess.StartInfo.FileName = "calc.exe"
devenvProccess.Start()
Me.Enabled = False
devenvProccess.WaitForExit()
Me.Enabled = True

Hello everyone,
I am building a new application where my webservices are in PHP and my client application is in .NET. Now more often then not I need to exchange data between the client and the server and some of the data is personal and sensitive. I would like to use some form of encryptiong preferably AES or Rijndael. But the encryption schemes seem to operate differently i both environments. I use .NET 2.0 and PHP 4.3. I tried using the same key and the same plaintext on both the sides but I end up with different encrypted data and neither side decrypts the data generated correctly. Please advise on how I should proceed further...
Thanks In Advance

In the older versions you used to be able to put a * in the version number and the compile action would fill in that number for you.
2005 seems to not allow * in the project properties window anymore. Any ideas?

You can only put the wildcard in the Build Number (3rd), or Revision (last) position of the Assembly Version.
If you doing this in the My Project Properties, Application Tab, Assembly Information button, you can specify a wildcard for the Build Number by putting an asterisk in the 3rd box for the Assembly Version and clearing the contents of the 4th box. The 4th box MUST be blank for this to work.
Also , when building components or class libraries, it's better to specify the complete Assembly version instead of letting the compiler "fill in the blanks". This is because if you go back and change your component, it will get a new assmebly version number. Default version policy says that an assembly will only work with the components of the version that it was built with. Meaning if you change the version number of one of an applcations components, you either have to rebuild the assemblies that use it to update the the version number that they're expecting, or create a new version policy in the applications config file to override which version the app will look for.
Go to MSDN and search for "AssemblyVersionAttribute Class" for more information.

Thanks. I understand about the versioning scheme and how it behaves. It make sense.
What I don't understand as why MS changed what they had before.
I used to be able to just set the revision (4th place) to a * and have things the way I wanted them. This gave me some kind of way to make a determination between individual builds out in the field. Now, from what it sounds like, to do this I need to actually care about how many times I hit the damn build button.
UGH!

They didn't, really. You can put the wildcard in either the 3rd or 4th place. You just can't have anything after it. So long as it shows up in the assembly.vb code as 1.0.* or 1.0.0.* , it'll work.
I personally never use auto incrementing numbers. Not ever for Build Number, since this is a random number anyway and not the actual number of times the assembly has been built.

Are you sure about that? When I open up my project properties, go into the Assembly Information window and try to change the last section of my version number form 0 to * I get a dialog box that tells me:
"Assembly File Version: A wildcard ("*") is not allowed in this field."

Yeah, I tried it myself to verify before posting. You can use a wildcard in only the 3rd or 4th position of the Assembly Version number. You cannot use the wildcard in the File Version number at all.
The only issue I found was that if the wildcard is placed in the 3rd position of the Assembly Version, the 4th position MUST be blank.
