When your creating the Install write a shortcut to the .exe into the start-up folder.
In VS 2005:
In the File System >
Highlight the File System on Target Machine >
Right Click > Add Special Folder > User's Start-up Folder then Enter
This will allow you create a shortcut to User's Startup Folder.

I have an application with several objects which I use to store the data that the user entered. Just like any other application (Word, Excel, etc) I need to save the data entered by the user on the disk, and later if the user wants, he/she must be able to retrieve the data and continue working with the application. (Basically, an open&save functionality)
Not all objects that I am working with are serializable, because I use a lot of collections in my classes, so I gave up on the idea to save them as xml (serialized objects).
My question would be, how do you suggest me to save the data of my application and how to retrieve it later? Which is best file class or file format to be used in this case? I would rather save in a binary format than in a text format, so people can't see and change directly the data.
Thank you all

You can use a BinaryReader and a BinaryWriter to read and write simple data types. For classes and collections you have to read/write each member.

I have a data grid that I have bound some data to from a DataTable and the problem I'm having is with the column widths. I've tried to explicitly set the width for each column but have had no luck setting the desired width of my DataGrid's column widths. I believe the issue is because I have some hyperlinks in the DataGrid that are long and they do not wrap. I am curious if somebody has a solution or suggestion to forcing a hyperlink to wrap and how to get access to that hyperlink in the code behind.

I have a user control I created. It has 3 text boxes internally.
My app has an array of 20 of these controls. I need to be able to use
cut and paste to/from clipboard. I keep getting an error message stating
that the control is not capable of this type of operation. The control has
a transparent background.

C# and VB.NET are not good candidates to write drivers like this. You won't find any exmaples unless you write it in VC++.

.Net Web Browser Control can better meet your needs. Check out this link.

Soory but that link didnt answer my question in loading a string of html and displaying it in a Frameset in a new window. Any idea of how this can be done?
|

Maybe...this frameset link can help you?
-- modified at 16:57 Friday 8th September, 2006
Regardless of frameset or web browser control, they both only take a URL address (web page, file path, etc), but not actual HTML content. What people normally do is saving HTML code to a file and then open the path of the file.

I have created a report using the report designer. On the report I have set the CanGrow property of a textbox equal to true. When the report runs that text uses three lines to display its content. The problem is that it spills its content onto the another textbox located directly below it. Can this second textbox automatically move down to accommodate the content of the first textbox?
|
|
|
|
|
Hello,
Which report designer are you using? It sounds like you could be using the ComponentOne Report Designer, from either Reports.NET or VSReports. If you are, any field directly below a field with CanGrow set to true will move down automatically to accommodate the new size of the field above it.
Assuming that you are using ComponentOne... If you continue to have problems, there are updates available here http://prerelease.componentone.com/[^]. You may need to click the link at the top of the page to see the full product listing. Only recent updates appear on the first page. If your subscription is not current, be careful what you download, because anything that falls outside of your subscription will function as an evaluation. You can also get support for ComponentOne controls from support@componentone.com.

Maybe someone can tell me if this makes any sense?
I have 3 instances of the same ActiveX object.
I can dimension the objects as an array:
Dim MyActiveXObjectList(3) as MyActiveXlib.MyActiveXObject
I can then call the methods by array index:
MyActiveXObject(ObjectToUse).Method
However, can I write EVENTS using this dimensional approach, or do I have to have 3 separate events, each catching one of the methods?
Tia!

If you're using VB.NET, you'll have to wire up the event handlers for each instance of the control using AddHandler/RemoveHandler[^]. There are no such things as control arrays like their were in VB6.
