Actually the 60" monitors are a hoax, because when you buy them you get a neural inplant into your brain and it transmits the image directly into your brain, which is cheaper than making a 60" monitor (but not a 57 inch one), so you are getting ripped off.

.net is capable of adding a new level to web development, it makes it to where in vb you can use urls like you would use a file path. It is useful, but i dont see why people are so enfatuated with it.
I guess it all boils down to in the end cosinewaves are different than sinewaves and logarithims and leftists.

I occasionally develop for mono (mono-project.com) when people insist on using Linux. When that happens, I am prevented from certain WinForms features, but a significant portion of .NET 2.0 works perfectly. Let's say I develop for .NET 1.2.

Whenever I want my app to be platform independent, I test it both on Mono and .NET

I am developing my software (windows side of things) for 2.0. However like all good developers, trying to ensure that my software will be easily upgradable to 3.0.

I hope all of you who ticked 3 remembered to tick 2 too, since 3 uses 2. In fact 3 is 2 with WinFX stuff as extra.

Yes, but can we really be guaranteed of the stability of the .NET 2.0 pieces? There are absolutely, 100% NO CHANGES???
I'm not willing to take that risk on production software, so therefore I still differentiate between .NET 2.0 and the release candidate .NET 3.0.

If MS uses a better SCC than SourceSafe, then yes. If MS uses VSS, then, we're doomed.

The question was "Which versions of the .NET framework are you targeting in your development?"
And .NET 3 uses the .NET 2 Framework. .NET 3 is just a name for the .NET 2 Framework + the WinFX stuff. The BCL and CLR are the same.

I think we have differing definitions.
The way I think of it is the .NET 3.0 Virtual Machine is the same one that supports the .NET 2.0 framework, and in fact MS might not need to change this for many versions to come, but the "Framework" is the WinFX stuff. If you look at the .NET 2.0 Framework poster that comes with Visual Studio 2005 boxed edition you will see that it is all the stuff that runs on top of the Virtual Machine.
Like Mono has a Virtual Machine that supports the .NET 2.0 framework, but it also has a GTK# Framework that you can run on top of it and in fact doesn't come with a full .NET 2.0 framework. MFC is a framework, but each version runs on the same 386 machine.

No, i did not.
Since our development uses (will use) the Windows Workflow Foundation classes. And those classes are not part of the 2.0 frameword.
Even though it is true, that the c# language did not change from 2.0 to 3.0 it is still a new Framework....

I hate the convention and the schedules of the Service Packs for VS2005 and .NET 2.0 we are using .NET 1.1 and every time that we try to port it to 2.0 we get some extrange conditions, and after search a bit, we found that are errors that M$ publish in the KB but they don't release the hot fixs, so you need to talk 3 times a week to ask for each path. Incredible !!!!!!
Here is a petition to MS to name back the name of the framework, I know that at this time they don't change it back, but when they lose the support of the community in the future maybe can fire some marketers based on the petition ;P

Well mainly because i dont have money for vs 2005.
