It does.
harshActsw wrote: what i ve to do to include the subfolders inside "myapp" to the application to run it properly.
You have to write a proper path to the file that you want to include. As you are using a virtual path, it will start from the root of the web application. If you have created a web application for the folder, the root will be located at c:\inetpub\wwwroot\myapp . If you just created a folder inside the default web application, the root will be located at c:\inetpub\wwwroot . You have to write the path to the file relative to the root.
You can also use a relative path, by using the file keyword instead of virtual . Then you specify the path from the location of the page that is including the file.

Have you ever tried Google Notebook? After installing the software, it will add a button at the bottom-right corner of IE. Dose anybody know how to implement that ? Any reply is appreciated.
Thanks

Hi everybody
I'm trying to create a simple IM (based on IP), but I have far more basic problem.
I'm trying to ping my girlfriend's computer, but for some unknown reason I cannot see her ip (I'm getting "request time out").
my computer is connected to the net directly, while her computer is connected through a router to the net.
lets say that my internet IP is: 44.0.0.1(according to whatismyip.com)
my girlfriend's internet IP is: 77.0.0.1 (according to whatismyip.com)
my girlfriend's router IP (in her local network) is: 192.168.0.1
my girlfriend's computer IP (int her local network) is: 192.168.0.2
now, from my computer and her's I can ping to random sites like www.yahoo.com etc., but when I'm pinging from my computer to hers (from 44.0.0.1 to 77.0.0.1) I get request time out.
I REALLY don't understand why is that, and how to solve it (I will need it if I want to connect to her computer directly).
Besides, if I ever get this problem solved , I still need to direct myself into her comptuer in her local network (tell the router that I want to address 192.168.0.2 which is her computer).
Thanks alot for any kind of help! I am extremely stuck!

The router may be set up to not accept ping, or a software firewall on the computer may be.

No, you don't. You use the ip address of the router when you communicate with her computer. The router translates back and forth between the external ip address and the internal ip address.

Hi Friends,
I want to develop a system which allow users to upload large size files to web server.
I'll be using classical asp to do that,
I found some code on web and used that but it allows me to upload only small files.
Whenever i try to upload large file it doesn't show any progress.
is there any size limit for classical asp (for uploading files)?
Can any one help me compeleting this small application.
Any code or article will be welcomed.

Are you doing this with a hosted server, or is it your own (or your company's). I ask, because it sounds more like ti could be an issue with the server.
If your server is hosted, I would contact your web hosts and ask them about it.

You could try using the AspUpload component. This allows you to specify a max size for you upload. If you set that above the highest size of the files you were trying to upload, it might possibly solve your problem.

Hi!
You should consider Server.ScriptTimeout value when you want to upload large files.

I have developed a web application in VS2005 which basically reads in a lot of different information from database, lets a user edit the data, and then compiles it all into a series of web pages to be printed by the user. It was required that the web pages are all displayed together so the user only has to print from one window.
I created a page which out puts the urls of the resultant pages into iframes. This has to be done dynamically, as the user selects the number of pages to print, and which ones he wants.
At first I found that for every page being printed, IE would print an extra blank page. After searching MS's knowledge base, and Google, I found that a table row stretched over the length of a page can cause this, so I got rid of the table. Now my page will print a single blank sheet before printing the rest of the pages. The HTML generated is below:
<form name="Form1" method="post" action="PrintPack.aspx" id="Form1">
<input type="hidden" name="__VIEWSTATE" value="dDwxNzcyNjM0OTY0Ozs+3OMqI2WcXXaduGBz58B1RA42Upw=" />
<div id="Panel1">
<IFRAME src="TruckPMSIP.aspx?SheetNo=1" frameBorder="0" width="722" scrolling="no" height="1002" style="margin ; padding "></IFRAME>
<IFRAME src="TruckService.aspx?Sheet=1&SheetNo=2" frameBorder="0" width="722" scrolling="no" height="1002" style="margin ; padding "></IFRAME>
<IFRAME src="TruckDefect.aspx?SheetNo=3" frameBorder="0" width="722" scrolling="no" height="1002" style="margin ; padding "></IFRAME>
</div>
<script language='javascript'>window.print()</script>
</form>
This only happens in IE, but my users will all be using IE, so I need to try and solve this problem. Any ideas would be very welcome.

Hello everyone
I have two submit buttons in same form with different value.the form having there comboboxes .. i want to validate three comboboxes when first submit button is clicked... and two combobox when second submit is clicked using javascript...i have tried but i am not able to get desired solution..
please reply me very soon.....thank you for reading my
question.....

First! do not define these buttons as submit buttons. Just define them as normal buttons and then check onclick. When click occurs, call a javascript and perform the validations you want. See onclick example below.
The statement above will look validatecombo1() function in scripting block. Do the same think for 2nd button but give a different name because of different validation.
I hope it works out for you!

Hi
I need to provide the user a way to select 30 minute slots across a 24 hour 7 day period. Using checkboxes looks awful - a grid of 48 x 7 (or 7 x48 ).
Also, if they want to block out a 3 hour period for example , they have to click 6 different boxes. The same period every day of the week - 6 * 7 clicks.
Any ideas how I can represent this?

Malc

Could you do something with drag & drop? For instance, to block out a 3 hour time slot, could place a block on the screen and allow the user to grab an edge and drag to the required size...

using Divs and DHTML? I'd have to trap the event.x event.y, translate them back to screen co-ords etc wouldn't I? Sounds a tad beyond me - unless I am missing something obvious and need hitting with a blunt instrument. Can you explain a little more info, or as they say alot on these forums...
plz give me the codes man that let me do this.
Thanks for you time.

LMGDAO!
OK - it's actually pretty simple. First thing to do is add your div at the correct place on the page. You should be able to work this out ok from your existing stuff, so all you need to do is add a div with position:absolute and top / left style attributes.
Once you have the div on the screen, you need to know if the user holds down the button on it, to start the drag operation. To do this, just add an "onmousedown" attribute which points at a function which just updates a variable to say "we're dragging now", and an onmouseup attribute which does the opposite.
OK - now we need to know when the user is dragging - to do this, we add an onmousemove handler to an appropriate object - ususally the document, but can restrict it to a "canvas" object (like a containing div) which will improve performance - the event is continually fired when moving the mouse, ,so makes sense to try to restrict it a little.
OK, the handler that we need just needs to check if we're holding down the button - which is where the mouse up / down bit comes in. If we're not dragging, then we simply return from the handler without doing anything, but if we ARE holding down the button we need to work out what to do next....
First thing is to get the current size and position of the div. We can get these from the various style attributes. Once we know how big it is currently, we work out where the mouse pointer is from event.clientX / event.clientY. From this, we can work out how wide (or tall) the div needs to be to make it extend to the current mouse position, and update it's style.width attribute.
If you need any more help, send me an email, and will see what I can do

Cheers Richard - got it working - kindof. Dragging, expanding is fine, just struggling to translate screen position to my 'duration' concept, but that's my problem now!
It will be a neat interface when it is done though (yeah and possibly a CP article, shamelessly taking all your credit) - so thanks for the help.
Thanks again.
