Hey that did the trick! Thanks so much. I will remmeber to use PRE next time to preserve indentation...sorry about that.

(I didn't even bother to look at all the code that you posted. You should use the pre tag when you post more than a few lines to preserve the indentation, or the code gets virtually unreadable.)
What you are describing is a common problem when you reuse the same object. What you add to the list is not a copy of the object that you have, but a reference to the object. The result is that you end up with a list full of references to the same object. You have to create a new object for every item.

Hey everybody
I have the WEIRDEST problem of all.
all of a sudden, out of the blue, VS studio started to hang and become not responding when I'm trying to open or create a new project.
It starts to load or create the project but than it just hangs and stops responding (not responding status). devenv.exe process gets stuck on 50%
(+-2), and thats it.
I also noticed that it doesn't happen in all projects, just ones with COM components in them. for instance, a project with BandObject from the article in this site (http://www.codeproject.com/csharp/BandObjects20.asp) whic I have used this MANY times before, but now it won't load. I also tried to redownload it, but it still doesn't work.
I tried to uninstall and reinstall, look for an answer in the web, but nothing works! the next step is reinstalling windows or even reinstall a fresh copy of windows (which everybody knows its a nightmare!) I'm out of ideas! HELP - Please!!!

Are you saying that even uninstalling and reinstalling VS doesn't fix the problem?
Cheers,
Vikram.

no, it doesn't work!
and I will ask in the lounge. I just thought that maybe because it happens only in a specific type of programs, maybe someone will know.
Thanks anyway

BTW, this isn't a programming question, so you might get better answers if you ask in the Lounge.

Hi,
In a socket I want to send data on port 5004 and receive it on port 5004.
I want to know, maybe another data on this port or only the data that I sent ?
Best wishes

Hi mehrdadc48
I don't understand this part:
mehrdadc48 wrote: I want to know, maybe another data on this port or only the data that I sent ?
Could you explain it another way?
I'm guessing you will need the TcpListener class. Try Googling that, or put another message in this thread explaining what you want to do - in a little more detail.
Kind regards - Jakob

Hi mehrdadc48
I hope I am understanding you when I guess:
You want to listen on port 5004 for any data sent to it?
I beleive you can set up a TcpListener object to listen for any data sent to a given port on the machine you're running the program from.
If you are using .net 2.0:

If you are using .net 1.0

Ok, I have this program (kind of a work-in-progress), and a number of people use it. Up until now, whenever I did an update, I just uploaded the files to a server somewhere, and then sent a notification email to some people (and they download the file(s) at their convenience).
However, one of the users asked that I instead implement an update option inside the program where you could click on something, and the program would automatically go out to the internet and download the update and "install" it.
The installation of the update is not a problem at all. I can figure that out. However, I've never delved into the practice of using the internet programatically (never even used the browser window object), and I wouldn't know where to start.
Can someone please point me in the right direction (know any good articles?), or, if it's simple, show me how I can get the program to just do the following:
- go to a URL and get the contents of a text file (for info checking)
- depending on the info, go to a different URL and download a different file (the update)

Thank you for the articles!
But, that's far more complicated than I was expecting.
I'll keep looking.

Good day, ladies and gentlemen, long time leech, first time posting
I'm developing an application that has an embedded WebBrowser control that specifically opens one page (a page on my company's internal network). When I open it in IE, it works fine. When I open it in my application, I get a page error saying that I need at least IE 5.5. I checked both browsers with ipchicken.com to check their user agent strings, both seem to be identical.
My question is...could there be anything else in the way? Is there a way to access the user agent string for a WebBrowser control?
I've been programming for a few years but I'm still relatively green on C#.
Any help would be appreciated.

just an idea, I'm not sure if it will work.
try to use axWebBrowser COM component instead of the WebBrowser.
it is a weird problem, but thats all I got for now.

As far as I know, any C# application written with VS.NET 2005 will run in 64bit mode on a 64bit machine automatically.
