Use the Substract method of the DateTime object to get the difference as a TimeSpan. The TimeSpan structure has properties that you can use to get the number of days.

How to make transparent browser windows in ASP.net?

Hi, Thanks for your reply. I am able to set the transparency of windows forms in C# and VB using Opacity property. But what i need is to set the opacity for the web browser windows in ASP.net. Could you please help me with this?

I am not sure where you would like to apply, but i am giving a sample.

this style attribute can be applied to any html element.

I use asp:ImageButton rather than use asp:Button as a button, so how i make the imagebutton handle the btn.click ( function of button click already done at vb code behind) in html view ?

Description:

Develop a client and server application to synchronize data between one another.

Client application runs on Windows based OS XP or Server and is written in .NET 2.0/C#. Client application monitors users PIM (Outlook, Outlook Express, etc.) for changes to email, contacts, tasks and communicates any changes to server application. Additionally application monitors listing of favourites from Internet Explorer, FireFox, etc. and synchronizes with server.

Server application runs on Windows Server and is written in .NET 2.0/C#. Server application accepts requests from client application to update data from users PIM and browser and stores in MSSQL 2000 database. Communication between client/server is RSS and server uses web service to process requests.

Client application checks for changes in the server side database and updates or synchronizes local PIM and browser with what is stored on the remote database. Server application uses keep alive link from client side to communicate to client that it needs update from the client side.

Client application needs to be modular to accept future enhancements to manage other PIM applications or browsers.

The server manages several clients and runs in multi-threaded, multi-user database environment.

Please respond with your technical plans to accomplish the requirements of the application.
1. What technologies will you employ on the client and server side.

2. How will you accommodate the remote communication mechanisms.

3. What client side PIM applications will your program support? (Outlook, Outlook Express, etc?) What browsers will you support?

4. How will the database schema accommodate the multi-user environment? Changes in information on either side? and Synchronization?

5. How will both applications be designed to be bug-free, crash resistant, and recover from errors?

Here I had a calender.I need to display it like,when we create a dropdownlist by default it shows the first item and we can select from the list.
In the same way can we create a calender for it has to give a todays date bydefault and it has to to show calender when we want select a different date.How to do this???I have no idea of calender.
my requirement is it should not give a seperate calender display.Try to solve this,Thanks in advance.

Designation==dropdownlist
PostingPlace==textbox
How to show a calender with respect to Dateofjoining??
all the calender should not be shown on the desktop while editing only i need to select from the calender.

But for importing namespaces I have to add reference of web application to this web service.

You have to create an object of the class and call its function.

for eg:-

Button1.Text = f.name1() 'name1() is a function which is present in the webform11

I am using MailMessage class in ASP.NET.
There i need to have a provide Reply-To ID.So that once the user clicks reply ID will appear in the TO address automatically.

So that anybody can reply directly to the ID which i have mentioned regardless of the inbox.

store the email-id of your users in a database. whenever anybody clicks on the link, retrieve the email-id from the database and put that value in the To address.

Ability to specify reply-to address (instead of using from address while replying)

Reply-To : dilp@rediffmail.com

The user will specify the Reply-To while sending mail and at the receiver's end,From Address will be info@mydomain.com(provided by the mail server) and if he clicks reply then the Reply-To address specified by the sender(i.e dilp@rediffmail.com) will appear in the To Address.

Is it the page in the iframe or the page containing the iframe that is doing the postback?
