Which part are you stuck on ? Do you know SQL ( tragically, lots of people fancy they are writing database apps but don't know SQL nowadays ) ? Do you know how to interact with your database in code ? I assume you know how to set the datasource of a listbox ?

He's asking you where you're getting stuck. What part of this ListBox procedure are you having a problem with?

hi,
Everyone know how to freeze panes the datagrid in vb.net? which mean DataGrid with the ability to lock the header row and columns.
Please help!
Regards,
charles

The DataGrid in 2002 and 2003 doesn't support "Freeze Panes". The DataGridView in 2005 does. The documentation on it is here[^].

Hello,
I have a windows application that uses a sql server remote database.
Which is the best method to deploy an application that has to connect to a remote server on an another computer, that is part of the LAN Network.
I have been told that during installation the connection will be setup.
At the moment I am using the sqlclient connection. I have my connection string in the app.config. But when the customer installs that want to be able to browse to the server that they will have to connect to.
Well as I have never deployed, I will never know what is best.
Give you could give a short example, i would be most grateful.
Thanks

Can anybody help me to resolve below issue?
I download one program from internet. The previous program used devcomponents.dotnetbar v4.8 control. I removed the dll in the reference and also deleted the form which used that control. After that I tried to rebuild the solution, I encountered below error message. Please refer. Thanks in advance.
D:\Jackey\localJxc\licenses.licx Could not transform licenses file 'licenses.licx' into a binary resource. (1) : error LC0003 : Unabled to resolve type 'DevComponents.DotNetBar.DotNetBarManager, DevComponents.DotNetBar, Version=4.8.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=7eb7c3a35b91de04'

How can i increment current cell by adding one to it.
Its vb equivalent is grid.col = grid.col+1

What sort of container are you using ? A datagrid has a Columns collection, which is numerically indexed, and also by column name.

Dim temp As Integer
temp = 5 / 2 : output = 2
temp = 11/ 2 : output = 6 <- ??
(5/2=2,11/2=5)
why?
|
|
|
|
|
Because you defined temp as an Integer. 11/2 = 5.5, or as an integer, 5. Converting a floating point number to an integer truncates the decimal point and everything after it.

Because it's rounding up, if you want it to always round down, use Math.Floor

On 5/2 = 2.5 ==> 2 it is rounded down
On 11/2 = 5.5 ==> 6 it is rounded up
I don't know why, but it is alternating rounding up and down... 3.5->4 4.5->4 ...

Hi,
is it possible to execute code, saved in a string, while runtime? The Problem is the access to the controls on my Forms. It is for a language-system. I've the controls including property in a String (e.g. "frmMain.cmdEnd.Text") and the target value in another string. How can i access the property of the target control?
Thanks, schachmat

You can use reflection to find the control and it's property and set it.

Not really, I don't write VB.NET, I'm here only because most questions end up being framework related. But if you google, you'll find lots of examples.
