Me personally I enjoy the tutorial, step-by-step approach. There are times when you have to wade through "this is a variable" type sections, but the majority of the book is great for getting you up and running very quickly with MC++. ClassView, FileView, ResourceView, ClassWizard, WizardBar, ProjectSetting, debugging tools, ...). But if you decide to read this book, you should keep it in mind: there're too many errors in this book. There're more than 200 entries in the errata!
