I wonder if anyone can help me. I heard that via VB you can run a program to display all the field names within a database. I have tried using schema but have got stuck due to lack of knowledge.
Question is, can this be done and am I going in the correct direction?
I have a sample of my code, which does not work.

it is win32_processor and the property is "family","architecture " and "manufacturer" but don know to access

The Family property of Win32_Process is not 100% trustable. It can, at times, return a number that means a processor family very different from what the Name property is telling you.
The Architecture property will always return 0, which means "x86".

hi,
i made 3 forms in vb.net 2005 , form3 set as startup form in which a combobox that contain 2 items ,1st for show form1 and 2nd for show form2.
i want form3 should ask that which form will be the startup form(form1 or form2)
can someone know how to do this?;)

You can't change the startup object once your app is compiled. Perhaps you need to take a different approach to explaining what you want this stuff to do?

You could do this... I'm not sure this is exactly what you're after but it's a way to set a "startup" form on first run.
What you need to do is have an XML config file with a startup form setting that you read. You can then show the required form, after launching a blank, invisible startup form.
The thing is, you're not actually changing the "startup" form though. You are however changing the visible form to the required, which is all the user really knows about.
So what you want to do, is possible - but not in a pure sense.

Hello,
I have a main form with a datagrid.
When I add I click a add button and another form (customer form) will open. I enter in the new data and click add customer button. The customer is saved in the database. After the another function will be called to get the new customer and fill a dataset for the datagrid datasource. However, the datagrid form does not show the new customer. I have to close the main form first and then re-open it.
This is the code i am using code for the add customer form.
I am using visual basic 2005 and sql server 2005.
Windows application
The datagrid is an ultragrid form infragisitics. But still functions the same way as a normal windows datagrid.

hi,
i'm doing a project with MDI form as startup with menus categorized for various departments. I want to display the respective menu only when a user from a specific dept logges in. the problem is that new departments can be added later, so how can i manage their menus also in MDI

I'd create a class that builds the menus programatically from scratch & add call that class from the form. I'd use a function in the class to build the menus according to the logged on users department. The information regarding departments would be held separately in a datasource of some kind. I may even add values to the datasource to control menu item properties on the fly.
But that's just me. Your project may require something different.

I think if you add either vbCrLf or ControlChars.NewLine to where you want the string to be written on a new line that may work.

First, copy and paste your ACTUAL code, not something that's "alomst the same". I very small difference in your code can make all the difference in your output.
Next, don't use ControlChars.NewLine. If you want a complete new line, which is TWO characters in Windows (CR and LF), use Environment.NewLine instead.

What on earth is this doing?? You realize that c is being evaluated for length in every one of those if statements, including after each new change you make by padding it with spaces?

Where is aaa defined ("aaa.CreateCSVFile(Data1)"), and as what?

A CSV file (Comma Seperated Values) IS a text file!
