Hi, I'm working in a project that use a 3d real time location system very precise.
I can obtain via API the position of the tag in the room.
I want to draw on pocketPc screen the map of the room and moving the tag I want to navigate in the room where are only walls.
Is it possible with WinCe or I've to use Windows Mobile that support Direct3D?
Could anyone suggest me some C# sample code ?
Thanks very much.

I want to be able to create and control a web browser on a smart phone running Windows Mobile 5.0.
If I create a new non-dialog based project under VS C++, 2005 I get a single main window created when I start the (empty) application.
Is it possible to add an address bar to this window, use it as a web browser and control it using the IWebBrowser2 interface?
I've tried doing it using the following code, but nothing happens (all the code works fine, no errors, but nothing appears on the display)
hr = CoInitializeEx (NULL, COINIT_MULTITHREADED);
if (hr == S_OK) {
hr = CoCreateInstance (CLSID_WebBrowser, NULL, CLSCTX_INPROC_SERVER | CLSCTX_INPROC_HANDLER, IID_IWebBrowser2, (LPVOID *)&m_pBrowser);
if (hr == S_OK) {
// make the browser visible
VARIANT_BOOL pBool=true;
m_pBrowser->put_Visible(pBool);
COleVariant vaURL(_T("http://www.hotmail.com")) ;
COleVariant null;
m_pBrowser->Navigate2(vaURL,null,null,null,null) ;
}
}
Any help would be appreciated.
Ta!

m_pBrowser->Navigate2(vaURL,null,null,null,null) ;
i think u have to specify where it has to show the page(third variable should be target window name)

Thanks, I will try, but I think the problem is more to do with the IWebBrowser2 interface that is returned from the CoCreateInstance call because now I realise even the put_Visible call fails (returns E_FAIl).
I think that what is being returned from CoCreateInstance is not a valid IWebBrowser2 interface.

//Create the control window
if(!CreateControl(CLSID_WebBrowser, NULL, WS_VISIBLE|WS_CHILD,
rect,pWnd,AFX_IDW_PANE_FIRST))
{
m_pBrowserApp=NULL;
DestroyWindow();
}
LPUNKNOWN lpUnk = GetControlUnknown();
HRESULT hr = lpUnk->QueryInterface(IID_IWebBrowser2, (void**)
&m_pBrowserApp);
if(!SUCCEEDED(hr))
{
m_pBrowserApp = NULL;
DestroyWindow();
}

If I use the code exactly as you have it there I get and ASSERT error occsite.cpp (line 1067) where it checks that the window is not already attached.
If I create a new window (CWnd* m_pWin = new CWnd ();) and use that one, nothing appears on the mobile emulator screen and no errors occur.
If I compile it for a win32 desktop app it works fine.
I'm beginning to think that there is something missing in the WM 5.0 OS

A simple example would be the following one which is using the StreamWriter:
----------------
Dim sw As System.IO.StreamWriter
' Open the file.
sw = New System.IO.StreamWriter("text.txt")
' Add some text to the file.
sw.Write("This is something ")
sw.WriteLine("This is something else")
' Close the file.
sw.Close()
-----------------
To read the content use a StreamReader:
-----------
Dim sr As System.IO.StreamReader
sr = System.IO.File.OpenText("text.txt")
MsgBox(sr.ReadToEnd)
sr.Close()
--------------
This should do ... good luck!

Hello, please forgive me for the silly question but I am a really beginner at this.
Well, I want to know how to open a new "view" in Windows Mobile. I just search something like CDialog::DoModal.
Can somebody describe the process to do what I look for?
Thanks in advance.

If you haven't figured it out yet, you should try this:
- add a new form to the project
- to show the new form create a new instance of the form and call the ShowDialog() method:
----
FormName frm = new FormName();
frm.ShowDialog();
----
Hope this answer helps you!

Hi, thanks, but the problems still remains.
When I type the point and the VS shows the available methods, ShowDialog() doesn't appear. If I look up in the Help I can read a note telling that it is a method available only in the Framework 2.
Then I went to the "About...". It shows "Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0.50727".
So, which can be the problem? I created the project as "Device Application for Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone"
Thanks for your help.

Many thanks in advance for any help!
