The OnClientClick property is used for events handled in the browser (i.e. Javascript), not on the server.

onClientClick is javascript, correct? If so, it's a client side event, and no postback is performed, thus missing the break point.

You should be able to use SelectedIndexChanged event on dropdown1 and on the eventhandler of that, you can fill records in dropdown2.
protected void myDropDownList_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
//Write code to fill dropdown2 based on value selected in dropdown1
}

:-OI have a datagrid column which goes as -
<asp:templatecolumn headertext="New Inquiry Type">
<itemtemplate>
<asp:hyperlink id="hplnkInquiryType" runat="Server" text="<%#DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem,"investor" name").tostring()%="">>
when i try to view the page in the design mode i get this error --
Could not open in Design View . Place quotes around a '<% %>' block used as an attribute value or within a element.
it works when i wrap the text attribute within 2 single quotes -
but then the Hyperlink on the datagrid throws an error when clicked as - undefined
i.e. coz it needs the investor_name to be wrapped around single quotes.
thus the hyperlink works with the following code but no design view --

Use the "Ignore HTML" option when you post HTML code.

b { font-weight: normal; }

ASPX code seems to be missing. click "Ignore HTML tags in this message (good for code snippets)".
You also may want to wrap it in a <PRE> tag

i created an user control, it has 3 properties, but when i add to web page , i cannot see its properties at property window why ?
|

For a user control the properties are not shown in the Property window. Instead you must create a custom control. Just google for "create custom control" and you'll find a lot of tutorials.

You're wrong about that. They're two different things. I suggest reading this[^]

IE shows the errors in the left corner of status bar and the mozilla fire fox have a ‘java script console window’ in tools menu.

hi,
I am using webpartserver and webpartcontent to display contents from the database.
I wrote coding as :
<asp:WebPartManager ID="WebPartManager1" runat="server"> </asp:WebPartManager> <br />
<asp:WebPartZone ID="SidebarZone" runat="server"> <zonetemplate>
<%For k = 0 To dt.Rows.Count - 1%>
<% If dt.Rows(k)("functional_source") = "calender" Then%>
<asp:placeholder ID="placeholder1" runat="Server" > </asp:placeholder> <%else%>
<% listideas(dt.Rows(k)("data_source"))%>
<asp:label id="lbl"_dt.Rows(k)("functional_name") runat="server"> <%=vals%></asp:label> <%End If%>
<%next%>
|
</zonetemplate> </asp:WebPartZone> | | | "
While running this code, the for loop run's only one time. I want to create more label's depending on the rows in data base. How to do this. Plz it's little urgent. Suggest me an idea or an example to solve this issue. Note: With out lable control i cant able to display anything, so label is important, i think so but not sure.
Thanks in advance
Bye

Are you sure the loop is only going through once, or is the IF condition true once?
|

Hi Thanks for your reply,
The for loop has to repeat till it reaches the total rows in the database. If condition checks whether in that row it has an data as calender. So if the condition fails then it will go to the else part for each row. Though the condition become true, the loop continue till the last record.
Once again Thanks for your reply

Place a javascript alert in the loop to check values. If it ends up all values are correct, and nothing seems wrong, try looking at the loop statement (ex: adding a k to the next statement).

Hi,
Thanks for you suggestions. I have created that using javascript itself. Coz this tool was not working in Mozilla Firefox. So prefered Javascript as best.
Thank you very much

Use the RegisterClientScriptBlock command to write the window.close script to the page.
