I upgraded to internet explorer 7 and discovered that the visual studio 2005 script debugger doesn't seem to work with it at all, I can't set a breakpoint in embedded jscript on the page, where I used to be able to. I just get the "this is not a valid location for a breakpoint" error.
I've done a search and only found reports of it not working in vs 2003 so I'm wondering if this should work or if there is a work around or...?

Through F9 I guess? The lil red dot? I've never been able to get this to work, but adding a debugger; statement does with IE6 - how bout with IE7? (and hoping it does - was JUST about to upgrade, but if I can't debug js then NO DICE!!!)

Hello,
I have a function which is transforming a XML file into another XML file using a XSL file.
Function GetXML()
...
Dim myXml As XmlDocument = New XmlDocument
...
myXsl.Transform(myXml, myXslArguments, HttpContext.Current.Response.Output)
...
End Function
Instead of displaying, in the browser, the resulting XML I want to return it so I can display it later in the browser as a XML document.
How can I do this?
Thanks,
Miguel

Have you tried writing it to a stream?
|

No, could you give me an example?
I have been looking for an example but no luck.
This is the code I have:
Hello,
I tried to find an example but no luck.
Could you give me an example?
Here is my code:
Function GetXML()
Dim myDocument As XmlTextWriter = New XmlTextWriter(Response.OutputStream, System.Text.Encoding.UTF8)
myDocument_Build(myDocument) ´ >> This line calls a function which adds nodes to myDocument
myDocument.Flush()
myDocument.Close()
End Function
All I want is to return myDocument in some format that I can display later as XML file.
Thanks,
Miguel

Create a new variable of stream type and change where you have Response.OutStream to the new stream.

You can try a test web page to test it. Try something like this:
private ProcessInfo po;
public int GetIteration
{
set{ ViewState["Iteration"] = value; }
get
{
if(ViewState["Iteration"] != null )
{
return (int)ViewState["Iteration"];
}
return 0;
}
}
private void Page_Load(object sender, System.EventArgs e)
{
po = ProcessModelInfo.GetCurrentProcessInfo();
if( !Page.IsPostBack)
{
lblOriginal.Text = po.PeakMemoryUsed.ToString();
}
}
private void Button1_Click(object sender, System.EventArgs e)
{
// Add to session
for( int i=0;i<100000;i++)
{
Session["Test" + GetIteration.ToString()] = "1234567890";
GetIteration = GetIteration + 1;
}
lblCurrent.Text = po.PeakMemoryUsed.ToString();
}

IsolatedStorageFile.GetStore(

do i have to add dynamic buttons(added at runtime ) to the page at each post back ?
WHY does ViewState property of placeholder Not Keeps my dynamic buttons?
I tried also panel, but it doesnt keep my dynamic buttons too.

You need to add the buttons during the oninit event of the page during each postback and the viewstate will be maintained.

can we create classes in web service
|
|
|
|
|
no, a webservice can only have methods.

I put some iframe in a page. then I need change its 'src' value in javascript.
but I can get the iframe object, it always return 'undifined'. I tried the
'document.getElementById' method and 'window.frames['xx']'.
at last, I did a test want to know how many frames in the page. so I use
'window.frames.length' to get the count. but it always return 0.
where did I wrong? Thanks in advance.

If I put an iframe in a page, window.frames.length returns the value 1.
Do you try to access the frame before it's loaded?

b { font-weight: normal; }

It seems 'Yes'. I wrote 'window.frames.length' in head part. the page doesn't loaded.
I will try it after page load.
Thanks for your reply.

I read a lot of articals on net via google.
but none of them is about event handling of controls was created at runtime For example in for next loop.
'Creation Part<br />
Protected Sub btnCreateRuntimeButtons_Click1(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnCreateRuntimeButtons.Click<br />
For i As Integer = 0 To CInt(txtNumberOfButtons.Text)<br />
Dim btn As New Button<br />
btn.Text = i.ToString()<br />
AddHandler btn.Click, AddressOf Me.btnClicked<br />
Panel1.Controls.Add(btn)<br />
Next<br />
End Sub<br />
<br />
'Event Part btnClicked event is never raised :'( i wanna die :'( <br />
Protected Sub btnClicked(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs)<br />
Dim btn As button = CType(sender, button)<br />
Response.Write(btn.Text & "th button is clicked")<br />
End Sub
please help and run this code :'(

Are you reestablising the event handler on PostBack since this is a dynamically created control?
only two letters away from being an asset

Becuase the buttons are dynamic, you must re-connect the event handlers on postback
only two letters away from being an asset

i have a commonClass in application.
Public Class CommonClass<br />
Enum ShoppingType<br />
SavedBaskets = 0<br />
ShoppingListIDid = 1<br />
End Enum<br />
End Class
In aspx pages i code dim xST as CommonClass.ShoppingType
it works in local machine, but i upload files to ftp, it says Type CommonClass.ShoppingType is not defined
What is missing :S

Have you tried moving the Enum definition out of the class definition, then creating a member of that type?
