It pops up again because it is displaying the cached page that is in your history. I imagine the back button is similar to javascript:history.go(-1);
I don't know if restricting the caching of the page will work or not, but i have a domain hosting control panel that always (seems to) re-request a page when i click the back button on the browser. This would be the result you are aiming for, then you can check server side if you want the message box code to be written into the page.

Using Javascript to run the window.open method
IE 7 always puts a url bar just under the Titlebar. IE6 does not do this. Does anyone know how to get rid of it? None of the IE BOM settings work:
open("myfile.html","_blank","directories=no, height=400, left=100, location=no, menubar=no, resizable=yes, scrollbars=no, status=yes, titlebar=no, toolbar=no, top=100, width=400)
This is totally annoying... can't find anything on the MS site about it either

You can't get rid of it. It's a security feature.

Thank you again... guess I'll have to design my way around it
I did find this link finally that explains the why and wherefor:
http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2005/11/21/495507.aspx[^]
I can see why MS does it... but I wish they'd made it "more beautiful" ... the address bar just "hangs out in the middle of nothing if you don't set the toolbar / menubar. Seems like MS could have made it so that the address bar sits within the menubar but without the buttons <sigh>.

Hi All
I need to know whether isolating a website in a separate application pool on the server causes the initial page load to be slower or not??
My website is hosted on a webserver but lately they isolated it into a separate application pool but I noticed a slower load so is these cuz of the new application pool??
Thanks a lot in advance
|
|
|
|
|
There is no reason why one application pool would be slower than another.
I think that it's the other way around. You are experiencing the same performance problem that they try to rectify by doing changes to the server.

I am new to asp ...please help me...
Thanking you in anticipation.
If you fail for the first time , call it version 1.0.

to kill the entire session use: Session.Abandon
to kill individual session variables use: Session.Contents.Remove(<sessionname>)

Hi,
I require Javascript code for the below. Please help me if anybody knows.
I have a datagrid with link buttons. The Datagrid contains Analyst Name and Site. While clicking on any Analyst Name or Site, the corresponding entry will come in two text boxes below the grid for modifying. This is the business requirement. Even though I am doing this using Item Command Event of Datagrid, it comes with a postback. Could anybody please help me by giving javascript code for this so that I can avoid this unnecessary postback? That is, while clicking on the grid, the corresponding entry should come in the text boxes. The item may be 7th , or 1st, or 16th. But there will be only one entry at a time.
Advance thanks for any help.

Hi Guys,
I would appreciate it if any body can give/show me some html/flash free templates for a simple web site for a business company.
Thanks in advance
|
|
|
|
|
So you want free templates?? You do realize this site is for developers who create those sites...
Anyway I think you will find it hard to get a "flash and html" template simply because flash should only be used for specific tasks. You would not have a pulsating Welcome sign on a business website.
Did you have any designs in mind?

Hi,
Unfortunately, i don't have any thing in my mind, but the customer has something that he don't know yet. He want me to show him something simple but yet impressing. So, any thing modern will do even if with out flash embedded.
Thanks again

Hi all,
just wondering if there is any way to embed an ASP.NET page into the assembly resources and have it served to the client. The standard GetWebResourceUrl() with type "text/html" simply returns the 'raw' code in the file and is not passed through the .NET web server, is there a way to acheive this?
I am developing a custom server control and would like to embed this page within an iframe in the control.

If you want the page to ne processed, you have to request it from the server. It seems like a long detour to have the server request the page from itself, then turn it into a resource and let the iframe request the resource. Why don't you just let the iframe request the page directly?

Hi There,
For an Simple Offline/Static Browser Project, i have a Simple Object/ATL.DLL (COM) wich i can implement as a reference via Visual Studio .NET and add it as reference as COM object in VisualBasic.
So i tried to get it running in IE/Firefox as a simple HTML with ActiveX calling with JS or VBS but it wont work, cause its no real ActiveX DLL.
The DLL doesnt contain window handles maybe thats the problem. I am searching for a solution where i dont have to code a wrapper DLL or a serverbased solution just clientbased HTML with Script(JS or VBS) no Serverbased Solution.
Update: I also tried Microsoft’s ActiveX Control Pad, but i cant find the Object. So a Hack will be usefull.
Thanks a lot.

hi all,
i need help with my website. i've got a few subdomains that show files in the /public_html/subdomain directory. so something.mydomain.com shows files in mydomain.com/something. does anyone know of a way to make something.mydomain.com show files in mydomain.com/anything/somethingelse?
i don't want to use redirects, i want something.mydomain.com/foo.php to stay in the client's address bar but show mydomain.com/anything/somethingelse/foo.php.
i've asked on 2 different newsgroups but haven't gotten any solutions. i don't even know if this is possible. does anyone have any suggestions?
thanks in advance,
