Use VS post build to COPY the expected pages and controls to the new project.

I want to get values from dropdown list. For Example it has value 5 now. I select 1 from dropdown list. I want to store 5 in one variable and 1 in another variable. How can I store old value of dropdown list. I can store new value.
I have followng event handler:
public sub change(sender as object, e as EventArgs)
pos_new.DataTextField = CType(sender, DropDownList).Text
end sub
pos_new as a globle variable of type dropdown list.It store new selected value. But How can I store the old value. I m using that dropdown list on a datagrid. I have taken pos_old global variable for old value. I m using VB.NET as code behind language for my ASP.NET pages

HEy guyz im faced with a problem here.
I need to print a small piece of data from a datagrid.
The data would probably neva b over a page.
The thing is i was gona use crystal reports but apparently i can only get data from the database, the problem with this is that the data must be id specific. wich it seems to me i cant specify when retrieving data from a datatable.
ive looked at printing straight from the datagrid but i cant seem to find any real info on that either considdering its mostly either vb bassed or not for web.
if anyone has any help for me pls let me know

Most vb.net code can be easily converted. Most of the .NET namespaces are the same.
There are also free converters on the web that you can use. I would recommend trying to do it yourself, it's a great learning experience.

how to make the text field first char to upper case when text enter
|
|
|
|
|
In order to do this, as it's typed, you must add a Javascript attribute to the Textbox.
In your Page_Load Event, assuming your text box's ID is 'TextBox1':
add the following code:-
TextBox1.attributes("onKeyUp")="this.value=this.value.toUpperCase();"

hi,
In my asp.net application, i want to upload files to my server i.e to my server hard disk and not to application folder. Also i need to browse my server directories,make directories,delete directories.
Pl suggest me a technology to be followed for the above scenario. How far would ftp be useful in this case.
|
|
|
|
|
I did something similar using c#. I was able to create directories and files and write them to my server using the standard stream. Although I didnt allow for browsing.
As far as ftp I dont think that would be the best option in this case.
Let me know if u want me to paste a quick example.

Hello,
I tried, unsuccesfully to make a webservice that returns objects with webmethods of their own, using a asp.net webservice.
I need to log every action made by the client and still maintain a nested interface.;)
for example: a flat regular web service interface: wsclass.getFlower returns a flower object - only with fields(not functionality).
I want to return the Flower and record what the user has accessed in the object.
I tried returning a webservice complient in interface to the object's instead of the object as a returning type of the getFlower.
But when i ran it it raised an error about a serialization failure.
THANX;

Hi,
Is the type (Flower) declared Serializable ?

Yes,
but it doen't matter.
If I want to return an object only with data, it's possible using serialization.
I want to maintain the logging functionality which requires a connection to the server.
It is not a problem if I expose an assembly but the trick is doing it with a web service that has a nested interface.
I need the web service for interoperability and keeping the deployment simple.
I don't want to rely on the client to have a .net framework installed (or Mono for linux) to avoid the deployment of a .Net assembly.
thanks
