Sakthiu wrote: I need to calculate the length of the BYTE Array
Which BYTE array ?
Sakthiu wrote: is strlen() fn supporting it ?
No, strlen is used to calculate the length of a zero terminated string.

When working with raw C/C++ arrays you will have to keep track of the length yourself.
The strlen() function works on strings because it assumes that the last element of the array is zero.

if you have an array, you have its size, no ?
otherwise, you can use this :
#define ARRAY_SIZE(array) (sizeof(array)/sizeof(array[0]))

Look up AfxGetStaticModuleState in MSDN.

How much of MFC do you need in a service application?
MFC is not supported for use in a windows service, although Microsoft does document how you can
use the MFC database classes.

When I click the maximize button within my window, the window is resized to the full screen covering the taskbar. Any other window expands to fill the desktop with it's bottom edge equal to the top edge of the taskbar. Am I missing something here?
I should note that I have customized the caption bars buttons, but the default behaviour is to send a WM_SYSCOMMAND.

I saw that when I made a skinned dialog without the WS_CAPTION style. You'll need to handle WM_GETMINMAXINFO and fill in the ptMaxSize and ptMaxPosition members of the MINMAXINFO struct that's passed with the message.

Thanks for that. Just on the offchance, I commented out the line which removes those window styles, and as you say it works. But I didn't expect the skin to remain unchanged. I may be wrong, but I don't think I need to remove those styles any longer.
I was wrong. I left it there to stop the DefWindowProc() drawing it's caption over my skin when an activation message is processed.
I don't suppose there's an api to get the maximized size, rather than subtracting the taskbar size?

Don't assume the window is on the primary monitor, use the multi monitor APIs to determine which monitor the window is maximizing on, and what the work area of that monitor is. (work area = the whole monitor minus any app bars that are on that monitor)

See this article[^] about how to insert a specific control in the statusbar (in this case a progress bar, should not be more complicated to add a hyperlink control).
And see this article[^] for the hyperlink control.

hi Rage,
I am having a WorkSpace in that i am having different .dsp files.
My Requirement is Calling a Dialog which is located in a different .dsp files.
for Example :--
GTDApp.dsw ---------------> Total .DSW Application.
in that Application i am having some .Dsp Folders.
1) GTD -------------------> .DSP
2) GTDCommentList -----------> .DSp
3) GTDCommonControls ----------->.DSP ... ETC
Now if i am Calling a Dialog from GTD which is Residing in GTDCommonControls
how can i do that.

I actually understood what you meant with the .dsps, I do not understand what "calling" a dialog means, and what your error was.
Try this: include the header file where the GTDCommonControls are defined into your GTD c-file to make it known there.
