I have an order table in access.I want to print orders from 1 to 10 or like that.(values entered in two text boxes).I have created the crystal report,it is working smoothly when giving the range values.
But through Vb I wrote
orders.orderid>=value1 and orders.orderid<=value2
If I give value1=5 and value2=7 it is showing properly.I change the the value1 it is working.But if I change the value of value2 it is not refreshing.always the value of value2 remains the first value(the value given for the first time.)

Hi All,
We are porting the following VB 6 code in to VB.net
VB 6 Code:
NumChan = GetDppData(objDppApi, VarPtr(DataBuffer(0)))
Here GetDppData is the function declared as below
Public Declare Function GetDppData Lib "DppApi.dll" (ByVal objptr As Long, ByVal DataBuffer As Long) As Integer
Where DPPApi.dll is a registerable COM Dll.
VB.net code :
UseDll.DppApi.GetDppData(objptr, VarPtr(dp4DataBuffer(intMcaChannelCount)))
Where the above function is declared in a module with name UseDll as below
Public Declare Auto Function GetDppData Lib "DppApi.dll" Alias "GetDppData" (ByVal objptr As Integer, ByVal DataBuffer As Integer) As Integer
VarPtr function Definition in VB.Net is as below
Public Function VarPtr(ByVal o As Object) As Integer
Dim GC As System.Runtime.InteropServices.GCHandle = System.Runtime.InteropServices.GCHandle.Alloc(o, System.Runtime.InteropServices.GCHandleType.Pinned)
Dim ret As Integer = GC.AddrOfPinnedObject.ToInt32
GC.Free()
Return ret
End Function
Here the functionality that we are woking is :
We are passing the Address of array to the dll so that it can fill all the array elements using Base address of the array.
The VB 6 code is working fine.
In the case of VB.Net code array is not getting initialized.
Please Guide me How to proceed

Hi All
I hope someone can help with this.
I want to be able to load a file into VB.NET 2005 and return the first 11 integers from the file.
I found ReadAllBytes to load the information into memory.
Dim returnValue As Byte()<br />
returnValue = My.Computer.FileSystem.ReadAllBytes(txt_Path.Text & "\" & filename)
What I need to do now is to read the memory to return the value of the first 11 integers into a list box, either as numbers or as hex, so I can check the information in them.
I have seen lots of examples of ReadAllBytes being used but none getting any information from the file.
Or am I wanting to use ReadAllBytes in the wrong way?
Regards
Simon

Hi.
I have Excel file, which I'm trying to load into DataGrid. The problem I have is that in Excel file some columns have TEXT (like: OLYMPIA EXP) or NUMBER (like: 100084) as a value. Let's say columnt Vendor has the above values(OLYMPIA EXP and 100084).
My code doesn't throgh any errors but displays TEXT only missing NUMBER values. I cannot figure this one out.
HELP PLEASE.
Private Sub DB_Connect()<br />
Try<br />
DS = New System.Data.DataSet<br />
MyAdpapter = New System.Data.OleDb.OleDbDataAdapter<br />
MyConnection = New System.Data.OleDb.OleDbConnection( _<br />
"provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0; " & _<br />
"data source=" & ExcelFilePath & "; " & _<br />
"Extended Properties=Excel 8.0")<br />
<br />
MyCmdSelect = New System.Data.OleDb.OleDbCommand("SELECT * FROM [Sheet1$]", MyConnection)<br />
MyConnection.Open()<br />
MyAdpapter.SelectCommand = MyCmdSelect<br />
MyAdpapter.Fill(DS, "[Sheet1$]")<br />
<br />
' Dim DV As DataView = DS.Tables(0).DefaultView<br />
'If Not sort = "" Then<br />
'DV.Sort = sort & Session("ORDER").ToString()<br />
'End If<br />
DG.DataSource = DS.Tables(0).DefaultView<br />
DG.DataBind()<br />
<br />
btnImport.Visible = False<br />
MyConnection.Close()<br />
<br />
Catch ex As Exception<br />
lblError.Text = ex.ToString()<br />
lblError.Visible = True<br />
End Try<br />
<br />
End Sub
|
|
|
|
|
Try and loop thru the DS to see whether the NUMBER columns are there or not.
Every job is a self portrait of the person who did it.

I did and it's empty for the numbers. It looks like reader assumes that all values have to be TEXT and cannot process different formats. What I've done is I changed Excel format all cells to TEXT and it still didn't do what I need. The only way to fix this is to format everything to TEXT and when go into number cells click inside and select TEXT format again from a menu. When it puts an explanation mark on the cell and treats it as a TEXT.
There's got to be easier way to go around this issue.
Any ideas?
Thank you,

Hi I found some code in an article posted on code project "Asynchronous Method Invocation" and was trying to follow the article, and convert it to vb.net, and got stuck at the last section of the article. I was wondering if anyone out there knows what the code below does, and how to convert it to vb.net. Thank you
<br />
private void CallBack(IAsyncResult ar)<br />
{<br />
DataSet ds = m_invokeMe.EndInvoke(ar);<br />
<br />
MethodInvoker updateGrid = delegate<br />
{<br />
m_grid.DataSource = ds.Tables[0];<br />
};<br />
<br />
if (m_grid.InvokeRequired)<br />
m_grid.Invoke(updateGrid);<br />
else<br />
updateGrid();<br />
}<br />

I created a DLL in VB .NET and I want to use it in an excel application, but I cannot create a reference to it. Is there any other way to use it in Excel Application?
Thank you in advance

You need to put a 'com-wrapper' around the dll to allow it to be used via create object.
Progid - the string you use in the createobject argument (project.class)
Guid - get a new generated one from the IDE of vs.net
Imports System.Runtime.InteropServices
<ProgId("PROJECTNAME.CLASSNAME"), Guid("C4CAB66D-291F-4bd7-9D5C-2E417AB75F49"), ComVisible(True), _
ClassInterface(ClassInterfaceType.AutoDispatch)> _
Public Class CLASSNAME
.
.
.
End Class

Hi,
Why do you want to display a vb.net form ? If you want to display some form there, you will have to deploy your application on that machine. Then you can send some message to that application to display some custom message.
Hope this helps !

I'm vary interested to know how you're able to display a msgbox on a remote machine, but not a form.
(If possible please explain, or provide a small code snippet)
From my point of view it sounds like you need to develop a Client/Server Application that communicate through a common protocol, and have predefined commands.
