i don't really know for the moment.
i'm eating the XML 1.0 specifications for now ; i'll think of the implementation a bit later
but i plan to port into C++ the JDom library (from Java)... maybe i'll have to implement such a handle class for managing the NULL references (yes, i'm more favorable to using references than pointers )

I heard that is supposed to be one of the best, but since I don't do anything java wise I wouldn't know.
Not so long ago I built my own Excel parser. That was a semi-port from java. I don't mean to bloat but I found nothing in C/C++ that comes even close to my implementation of reading a whole document in just 5 lines of code. That was using references also.

yes, it's pretty cool ; and as we use Java at office i could test it for all the common usage features...

why not writing an article about it ?

You know, I did. The first time my HD crashed, the second ( I used that HTML helper found on CP ) I chose the wrong "save" and saved the helper rather than what I had written. After that I kinda gave up.

when was it ?
can you give it a new try by now ?
come on, i'm behind you

I'll do it again, but I'm no hurry. Besides it'll have to wait till I get some time off work

Apache has one. Also if you use Google (ever heard of it?) you will find comparisons of the various DOM implementations (in case you are interested).

Can anyone help me implementing a text editor in c#.
Don't wait to hear a word of thanks from anybody when you help them instead ask them to help three other people and ask them to continue in chain.

Unlikely, in the C++ forum. Try again in the right place (and you'll get a better response if you try yourself, and post what problems you're getting)

Hi folks,
Two questions from a medium skilled programmer.
First, I would like to write a program that displays the current time/date and continually updates it. Do I need to use the struct tm from the header file time.h? Second, I would like to be able to determine my program's compile time and also how much memory it takes up. I remember the Borland compiler use to print out this information every time that you compiled but I have not yet figured out how to get this information from visual studio.
Thanks!
Carolyn

At a command prompt, or in a GUI application? In either case, you can use the time() function to get such information.

Only if you are using functions like asctime() , gmtime() , or localtime() .

you can use a timer for this
cmaccc wrote: Second, I would like to be able to determine my program's compile time
the Visual C++ compiler provides this information, but only if you change its correct settings into what you want. i don't remember exactly which settings are to change, but you can search fot it.

Hi everyone,
which event must i manipulate to desactivate the moving of a Child Frame?
And the event for Minimize/Maximize too
I tried already OnShowWindow, OnMove, OnMoving
but if i don't call the base-c***ion, the frame moves/maxi-minimizes anyway
Big thanks

I think you should handle the WM_NCHITTEST message. Call the base handler, and if it returns HTCAPTION , HTMAXBUTTON or HTMINBUTTON , then you should return HTNOWHERE . (Actually, it should be a method, dealing with window styles, for removing min- and max-buttons from caption bar).
I hope this works (but not for the case of using system menu -- this need additional work).
Are you sure the user will not be disturbed by these missfunctions?
|
|
|
|
|
Thanks, i'll try it
These missfunctions must be, it's a kind of Suspend-Mode, so this MDIChild blocks all access to other Frames ( Menu is desactivated )
|
|
|
|
|
If i'am over the button it returns HTMAXBUTTON or HTMINBUTTON, then i return HTNOWHERE
But i still can click on those buttons
But on the TitleBar it works excellent

Maybe you should simply change the windows styles and exclude those buttons? In MFC this can be done with ModifyWindowStyle(WS_MINIMIZEBOX | WS_MAXIMIZEBOX, 0) function, or adjust the styles in OnCreate handler.

|

|
|
Big thanks !
ModifyStyle(WS_MINIMIZEBOX | WS_MAXIMIZEBOX, 0); works great
