Friends,
In my application, i am using gridview with templeates like itemtemplate, edititemtemplate and footertemplate. At the last column of this gridview includes ASP:Commands Edit and Delete.
When I Click Edit, then all the fields are ready with their values in textboxes to edit.
But after edit, when i Click Update nothing is happening. Simply keeps the same page with textboxes with same(previous b4 edit)value and Command buttons Update and Cancel.
I tried to debug this. But when i click update it is not coming inside this method.

Please Help me. Its urgent requirement for me.

Do you have an update method/command incorporated with your object datasource for that GridView? Just to clarify this, can you tell me if you are using a strongly typed dataset (from within visual studio) or if you are using a class/namespace to achieve this?

i have a problem in page load even !!
on some servers when i run my web application the code i wrote in the page load doesn't executed ..
for example ..
i build a tree menu when the user login to system with the items authorized for him .. this code doesn't execute on some computers .. if i include a Response.Write("Any thing") to the load even and wrote any thing to the page the code executes.. !!!!
another case .. i use acrobat reader to view my reports .. i have a public page for viewing the reports i send the data source and report file name to this page it views the report. this code also doesn't executed on some computers ..

Maybe you need to re-install the framework on those servers. Do you get any error messages though?

Hello !
I've one problem related to tab index.
I've few controls on my webpage. I've set tab index for all control.
Its working fine. But if click scroll bar of my web page and then press tab key then focus goes to first control.
I want it to go on next control.
Please tell me how to overcome this problem.

I guess you'd need to store the last TabIndex value, then on tab click, check and increment it...kinda manually implement...

Hi,
I want to show calender when i click on cal.gif.
It should show up calander in Div and near to that image where i am clicking.
and selected date in one asp.net Textbox.
How to do this?

you can use the popup window to show the calendar.
and use javascript to show the selected date in the textbox.

Hi All,
I have faced a problem, When i export more than two thousand records from database to an excel Sheet an error occur . I take data into a dataTable and export it.
The error is :
"Server Application Unavailable
The web application you are attempting to access on this web server is currently unavailable. Please hit the "Refresh" button in your web browser to retry your request.
Administrator Note: An error message detailing the cause of this specific request failure can be found in the application event log of the web server. Please review this log entry to discover what caused this error to occur. "
In the event viewer i have seen the the error 'aspnet_wp.exe (PID: 2320) stopped unexpectedly.
my Operting system is Windows 2000 server and ASP.NET version is V1.1.
Plz find me a solution for the same.

Is it Oracle? If so, don't use their data provider due to memory leak issues... use what Microsoft offers: System.Data.OracleClient
You can also try and re-install the framework, that might help.

Hi
Thank you for the reply.Here i am using SQL Server 2000 and sybase server. In both cases the same error shows. I have reinstalled the framework and reinstlled ASP.NET,still same problem exists,"server application not avaialable".The Export to excel functionality exports nearly six thousand rows with out any problem. If the number of rows exceeds more than this it shows the error.

This sounds like a memory leak. And when you recompile your project and upload again the site is back up (or at least until someone exports another 6000+ records) right? Try to push the data as CSV and see if it makes a difference. Also make sure your servers are up to date with the service packs and patches (sorry if I sound foolish… Im not familiar with sybase  )

try this
ListItem items = new ListItem("Admin", "A");
or you can do this way also
ListItem items = new ListItem();
items.Text = "Global";
items.Value = "G";
Add to the DropDownList
DropDownList1.Items.Add(items);
Is it fine ?
