No, basically just asking someone to write a program for him. If he wants someone to do that they he should visit RentACoder.
People here help out more if you ask specific questions, and show some initiative...

using MS Visiual Studio.NET 2003, I'm trying to deploy smart device project to PocketPC but deploy fails. I got only messagaes:
"Error: Cannot establish a connection. Be sure the device is physically connected to the development computer."
but the device is connected and I transfer data and files. What could be the reason for deployment failure?
thanks.

Hi! problem is - when I press the button in grid (see - private void AddButtonColumn()) for the first time, counter adds 1 to row nine, when I press it repeatedly it works only on every second click. I want it to work on every second click at all times! how can I fix that? as you can see - on a button click timer is trigered. Counters job is to count how many times timer has been started. But now - for the first time it counts when timer starts and ends, but later on it does the job right. Heres the code Im having trouble with:
...
namespace Bonuss
{
public partial class frmList : Form
{
public frmList()
{
InitializeComponent();
dataGridView1.CellClick += new DataGridViewCellEventHandler(dataGridView1_CellClick);
}
void frmList__myElapsed(object sender, long Ticks, DataGridViewRow row)
{
if (dataGridView1.Rows[row.Index].Tag != null)
{
dataGridView1[7, row.Index].Value = Ticks.ToString();
}
}
private void ReloadData()
{
for (int i = 0; i <= dataGridView1.Rows.Count-1; i++)
{
if (dataGridView1.Rows[i].Tag == null)
{
dataGridView1.Rows[i].Tag = new rowTag(dataGridView1.Rows[i]);
((rowTag)dataGridView1.Rows[i].Tag)._myElapsed += new rowTag.myElapsed(frmList__myElapsed);
}
else
{
int err = 0;
}
}
}
DataGridViewButtonColumn buttons;
private void AddButtonColumn()
{
buttons = new DataGridViewButtonColumn();
{
buttons.HeaderText = "Opcijas";
buttons.Text = "--";
buttons.UseColumnTextForButtonValue = false;
buttons.AutoSizeMode = DataGridViewAutoSizeColumnMode.AllCells;
buttons.FlatStyle = FlatStyle.Standard;
buttons.CellTemplate.Style.BackColor = Color.Honeydew;
buttons.DisplayIndex = 8;
buttons.DefaultCellStyle.NullValue = "<+/->";
}
dataGridView1.Columns.Add(buttons);
}
public void dataGridView1_CellClick(object sender, DataGridViewCellEventArgs e)
{
if (dataGridView1.Columns[e.ColumnIndex].HeaderText=="Opcijas" )
{
try
{
rowTag currentRowTag = ((rowTag)dataGridView1.Rows[e.RowIndex].Tag);
if (!currentRowTag.isRunning)
{
currentRowTag.Start();
}
else
{
currentRowTag.Finish();
}
}
catch (Exception)
{
int a = 0;
}
try
{
if (dataGridView1[7, e.RowIndex].Value == "X")
{
if (e.ColumnIndex == buttons.Index)
{
dataGridView1[7, e.RowIndex].Value = 0;
}
}
else if (dataGridView1[7, e.RowIndex].Value != "X" )
{
if (e.ColumnIndex == buttons.Index)
{
dataGridView1[7, e.RowIndex].Value = "X";
float ft_Counter = 0;
try
{
ft_Counter = Convert.ToSingle(dataGridView1[9, e.RowIndex].Value);
}
catch (Exception)
{
ft_Counter = 0;
}
dataGridView1[9, e.RowIndex].Value = ft_Counter + 1;
}
}
}

Use the pre tag when you post code, so that the indentation is preserved.

I´m trying to programmatically convert xsd schema to xml file, can anyone help me with this please?
cellardoor

|

There are tools that can do this. Remember, a tool can only create one possible XML file from an XSD, as an XSD will list groups that are not fixed size, optional nodes, etc.
There's no way I know of to do it trivially using code.

Isn't there a possibility in the DataSet object??

hi..
In my application on a form , I want to list some paramter values as old & new. User entered values should be there in new column. But in c# we can use 'table' & 'DatGrid' for this. So which one is better for my application as i want user to enter those parameter values in a perticuler range only. Can i give dropdown combobox in table or datagrid so that user can select with only values given in that combobox. Can i do it with both Datgrid & table.
Can any body give me any good document to do this using datagrid/table in c#.
Thanks in adavance,
Vinay

Your terminology makes me think that you're using ASP.NET ? If so, you need to say so. I assume that GridView is not on your list because you're using .NET 1.1 ?

Thanks for reply...
But i am not using ASP.NET & i am using .NET 2.
In my application i just want to set some parameter valuse to new values & at the same time i've to display old valuse on form with table/datGrid (old values i'll read from SerialPort communication & display it in 2nd column). My 1st column will be my parameter name & last column will be new vallues entered by user.
On another button click event , i've to send those new values on serial port.
Thanks,
VInay

Then, what do you mean by table ? Why is GridView not an option ?

i am new in C#. So while going through some document i came to know that we can use table(table means 'tableLayoutPanel') & DataGrid(DataGridView). But since i want user should not enter wrong values i am confused which one to use & how to use...? Can u suggest me any document to learn it.
I am using Visual Studio 8.
Thanks,

Hello everyone,
I need your help to make a decision. I want to make a client/server program working like this :
At the client program, the user will make same selections, write some info etc. in a wizard like interface. When he/she is done and click the finish button all selections and infos will be sent to the server. All problems shall handled; for instance if the server does not reply for some reason the client should queue the ready-to-send data for a while, or if the internet goes down again queue the data and wait until the internet is back again etc. The ready-to-send data should also include a header part that identifies the client itself and some other useful information. All these information may crypted.
The server will listen some ports -or just one port for incoming trasmissions. It will have an effective queue structure so that no incoming data is going to lost due to long waiting periods. Also the server should refuse incoming data that do not have a proper header or that do not have a client id matching the list that the server itself holds.
As you guess there may hundreds of clients and more features may be added later, so everything can going a bit more complex.
My question is how should I write such a program. Using .NET Remoting, Network Programming or what else? Or am I on the wrong way and should use some othe approach ?
I will appreciate any help about the issue.
Thanks a lot and best regards.

I'd tend to use a web service.

I'm pretty charmed by WebServices. These act like a website but are just a litte more capable of handeling application (client) to server communication. You can secure data sent and when 'something' goes wrong during data retrieval or while sending, IIS handles your errors which you can catch easily. You can verify incoming data and you have no fancy security issues since they're all handled by IIS (you must trust those guys at Microsoft though .
I've created several apps using WebServices and i'm pretty happy about them. I'm really not into creating own 'servers' and handling TCP stuff so pretty obvious i chose WebServices, i really think you should look at them, and if they don't fit your needs, you can always switch to a diffrent solution
