If you are using html tags then check the box "ignore HTML tags in this message (good for code snippets)"

OK i think you want to add value also if i am not wrong
try this
ListItem items = new ListItem("Admin", "A");
or you can do this way also
ListItem items = new ListItem();
items.Text = "Global";
items.Value = "G";
Add to the DropDownList
DropDownList1.Items.Add(items);
Is it fine ?

Hi
When I tried to search files using the code given below
Dim f() As String = Directory.GetDirectories(path)
it is generating an error like
"Error : Request for the permission of type System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermission, mscorlib, Version=1.0.5000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089 failed."
I am getting the issue even if I specify the folders which is having full access.
I am using asp.net using vb.net in my program.
Please show me the right way to solve this.It is much appreciating..
Thank You,
RPM.

Are you trying to search system folder ?
if you only want to get files from the folder try this code
DirectoryInfo di = new DirectoryInfo(path);
FileInfo[] fi= di.GetFiles();

Hi Sandeep,
Thank much for the quick response and information..I tried that but still I am getting the same error..It is going to catch while executing the "DirectoryInfo" code,where we are getting the directory..
How I can resolve this...?
Thanks,
RPM..

OK i think problem is the security of the folder do one thing
first try to search your local folder such as C:/foldername ok
and be sure that you can access this folder from asp.net application
to check this try out following
1) reight click the folder go to properties then click the security tab
2)In group or usernames see the following names are added or not
ASP.NET Machine Account[userid\ASPNET]
also check Debugger Users[debugger\Debugger Users]
if they are not present then you have to add them by clicking add button

Hi Sandeep,
Thanks a lot for your responses...
I followed the steps,but when I tried to add the specified groups,I couldn't find them in the drop down.....
What I should do...
Thanks,
RPM.

click on the Properties window, click on the lightening bolt sign to bring up the list of your events so you can select which one you need to use in your gridview... actually I don't think I understand your question correctly. Can you explain what is wrong with your code?

This is what you can do: convert the desired field in your outer GridView into a templated field, then go back and click on the Edit Templates. Select that specific templated field, delete any other control that might be there by default, and drag-drop a GridView. You can bind the inner gridview just as you would for the outer GridView.
To manipulate data/attributes of the inner GridView, you will have to “find” that control within an event that is wired to the outer GridView:
protected void yourGridView_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e)<br />
{<br />
if (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow)
{<br />
GridView _yourInnerGrid = ((GridView)e.Row.FindControl("innerGrid"));<br />
_yourInnerGrid.SelectedIndex = 14; <br />
}<br />
}
Let me know if you have any questions, good luck!

By dashes, do you mean new line? If so, the Replace method can help you, but you have to play around with it to make it; this works for me in Oracle:
yourLabel.Text = _someVariable.Replace("\r\n", "<br/>");
Goodluck!

but i have to do opposite
Think u type a text in textbox
then how could i find the newlines in text?
Because when i see Text property of textbox, it seems like
"Think u type a text in textbox then how could i find the newlines in text? Because when i see Text property of textbox, it seems"

The \r\n or sometimes the \n (from within the application at runtime) is the special character for new line... you won't be able to see it in the designer or at app runtime, but trust me, it is there if you see the newline in a text box. And it is up to you how to manipulate it; I do it with the Replace() method.
