prefer full paths...
BTW, "C:\Directory\file1.txt" is not a valid path due to the \ escape character. you should write :
"C:\\Directory\\file1.txt"

You can also use of SHFileOperation instead DeleteFile, why?
From the MSDN:
When used to delete a file, SHFileOperation attempts to place the deleted file in the Recycle Bin. If you wish to delete a file and guarantee that it will not be placed in the Recycle Bin, use DeleteFile.

Dear All,
I need to create an XML file from Registry. I dont know how to do this.
Registry subkeys are tagnames and registry values are tag attributes.
Kindly help me.
Thanks.

where's your problem exactly ? reading the registry ? or writing XML ?
|
|
|
|
|
writing XML ..
Kindly help me. Show some sample programs if you can.
thanks

|
|
|
|
have you already searched for an XML library ?
if so, have you tried to play with it ?
what was wrong with this[^] ?
[edit]
please indicate what you tried, where you couldn't go further, and because of what ? (post code samples if relevant).

- call regedit.exe
- export the registry
- write a program that converts the result to XML format

If you're just creating a document, then just concatenate strings, it's not worth the hassle of getting a DOM object going.

Anybody knows any sites/links/articles on developing eVC++ SDK (NOT MFC)applications??
|
|
|
|
|
It's pretty much the same as developing an SDK-based application for desktop/server Windows. You will often find, however, that various functions were omitted from Windows CE as they are redundant: for example, MoveToEx and LineTo were omitted in favour of PolyLine . This was done to reduce the size of the kernel image.
The C runtime is missing a lot of functions and as such can't really be counted as a standard-compliant C implementation. Again, this was done where there was a more useful Win32 alternative.
On the whole, though, techniques for desktop Windows development are directly applicable to Windows CE/Windows Mobile programming.

Hi,
actually i know that creating a UI-Thread can make problems with all the messages between the Main-GUI-Thread and the Child-GUI-Thread.
But is it generally unused? How many software uses the architecture that all GUI runs in the Main-Thread and the logic in Worker-Threads?
Thanks
|
|
|
|
|
Are you expressing a point or are you actually asking a question? Nevertheless, IMHO, you can create many useful programs without creating so called Child-GUI-Threads. However, I have personally encountered many situations where the Child-GUI-Threads were needed to improve the responsiveness of an application.
|
|
|
|
|
It was a question if my point of view is right
My project works now with WorkerThreads, but i think personally that each Child should be
a Thread, but i don't change my running project to have in futur problems with the Messages...
But thanks !

Hello friends,
I have an application for VC++ 6.0. This application creates an exe. I want to convert this application, so that the output is win32 dll. Whether i have to change some project settings or i have to modify the code. Please help me in doing so.
Thanks

There is no direct way to convert an exe to a dll.
What you need to do is create a new dll project and then copy/paste the functions you need.

Hi.
1- How do you define the Height of a tree?
Do you count each and every node (and not the path/links) from the root to the outmost/furthest leaf?
2- How can you mathematically prove that #of leaf nodes in any binary tree is one more than the #of nodes with degree 2?
Any help or tips will be greatly appreciated.

It's actually one less than this, since a tree with only a root node has a height of 0.

Take the most basic binary tree with only a root node. It therefore has, at most, two leaf nodes.

i i had problem in accessing data from memory.i had used two method to read image file from disk one is
1.reading byte by byte or structure but this method is slow as i had to read the whole image byte by byte and it will take lot of time.
2.Through second method i m reading the whole image once not like byte by byte as method 1. i.e
file.read(buffer,filesize);//reading the whole image at once.
now i m displaying data from from both method method 1 give good results but when i try to display data readed in memory through second method it did not worked it show dummy data.
Both these exe are seperate application. When i save the data readed through second method in file then it save and work fine.the only problem is displaying/accessing
The purpose of reading from memory n displaying was that i want to confirm that bitmaps is correctaly copied in memory, and purpose of displaying through cout<< was that i m varified that both outputs are same, and if i perform the operations like changing its bits from memory then get the correct bits to change.

I thinks that read function has limit in term of number of bytes, so don't read whole image at once, but read in size of 10000-20000 bytes
file.read(buffer,size)
buffer=buffer+size
use this way and let me know wht happens
