Have you tried deriving from this control and adding the buttons (and the code that goes behind) there?
ps: this should go to the C#/VB.NET7.NET forum. It has nothing to do with ASP.NET

Hi friends,
I am developing web application, in which I want to catch errors using Application_Error in global.asax.
Sub Application_Error(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs)
Dim err As System.Exception = Context.Server.GetLastError()
Response.Write(err)
Response.Redirect("errorpage.aspx")
End Sub
But this function being called by each page on page load event even there is no error.
and also page navigation to error page is also not happening.
I am confused, how to use Application_Error for my purpose.
Please help.........thanks a lot

Obviously you are missing some file.
Try to post stack trace of your exception here together with all inner exceptions and their stack traces.

Where is your errorpage.aspx?

change the declaration to "/errorpage.aspx" to remove any problems with subdirectories.

I have HtmlInputFile control on asp.net page. It will take the value through browse button but it will not take the user value at the time of asp.net form load.
For example
Private Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
'Put user code to initialize the page here
myFile.Value = "d:\myfile\test.txt"
End Sub
myFile is name of HtmlInputFile control.
When I execute this page it generates the error like this
The value property on HtmlInputFile is not settable.
Can anybodu suggest how to set value of HtmlInputFile control.
Thanks & Regards,

I created an SQL Server Project and then deployed it to a database. On opening the deployed assembly from the database there is a line starting like - EXEC sys.sp_addextendedproperty @name=N'SqlAssemblyProjectRoot', @value=N'C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\homesite\DatabaseCLR'. If I change the project location to say, N'C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\anothersite\DatabaseCLR, how can I modify the assembly so that the SqlAssemblyProjectRoot property will reference the new location without me having to open the project from the new location and deploying afresh. Thanks.

Hi,
You can use viewstate to maintain password value.
Basically when page postback occurs password field get reinitialise and lost its value so in page_load event use
viewstate("password")=txtpass.text to maintain password
and use
txtpass.text=viewstate("password")
to again fetch password value from viewstate
I hope it works,

Actually man viewstate concept is ok why I asked is because you have given it like this:
Nagraj Naik wrote: txtpass.text=viewstate("password")
Thats why I told that for a textbox of textmode password you have to assign using attributes.add .

Hi,
I just tested this code.
Private Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
ViewState("pass") = txtPassword.Text
txtPassword.Attributes.Clear()
End Sub
Protected Sub DropDownList1_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles DropDownList1.SelectedIndexChanged
If Not (ViewState("pass") = "") Then
txtPassword.Attributes.Clear()
txtPassword.Attributes.Add("value", CType(ViewState("pass"), String))
End If
End Sub
Let me know is it working.

Nagraj
