when making a new web application in vs.net 2003.
i m getting the following error..
"vc package is not available or not installed.."
from one of the sites i hd recommended to repair vs.net..
will it be a wise decision

If you want to convert a hexa value to a decimal then have a look at the overloads of the Parse[^] method with the NumberStyles parameter.

hi,
I have defined a button in aspx file and i'm not getting intellisense of that button in the aspx.cs file and getting error "cmdPrev (Id of Button) doesn't exists in the current context".
that button is simly placed in table not in repeater or datagrid.
Also i have checked the Inherits property of the Page it is same as aspx.cs file name.I tried a lot to solve this error but not succeeded .
Can you please help me to get rid of this problem.

Hello all,
I'm new to ASP.NET. Tried to do the above in VS2005 but failed. Couldn't debug it either. The console app tries to update some csv files on a shared drive. Also tried calling a very simple console app that updates one csv file on my local drive and it's fine. In the web.config I have <identity impersonate="true" username="domain\myusername" password="password"> so that I can read from and write to the shared drive. Could anyone let me know why and how I can fix it please. Thanks in advance!

Do you mean the same code works when it updates the files on the local machine?
IMHO, you might have the security issue here as the ASP.NET process identity does not have the permission to write to the shared drive, more details[^]. Another check might be the path that you use to update the file, are you using the UNC format?

Error:
Files on shared drive not updated, with Visual Studio Just-In-Time Debugger window: "An unhandled exception ('System.InvalidOperationException') occurred in app.exe [3260]" and "... [2264]". Cannot debug.
The test code (in test.exe) is different and simple:

I used: <identity impersonate="true" username="domain\myusername" password="password"> in the web.config, so that ASP.NET is running under my account as myself and I can read from and write to the shared drive. The app.exe by C++/CLI (also tried a VB.NET version and no luck either) is running under a different account, but the test.exe above works well.
Yes I'm using the UNC format.

Normally, the new process spawned from the ASP.NET application does not run with the impersonated account. You can read the Microsoft KB[^] for more info and options.

Use two validators, a RequiredFieldValidator and RegularExpressionValidator. Bind both validators to your control (ControlToValidate property) and in the RegExp validator, enter the correct regular expression for your string pattern in the ValidationExpression property.
Your regular expression should look something like this :
^[0-1][0-1][0-1]\-[0-1][0-1][0-1]$
but I don't know if i'm correct there...
