Have you considered opening a bitmap object from the URL??
<br />
string sDrivePath = Server.MapPath("relative/image/url.jpg");<br />
Bitmap bmpYourImage = null;<br />
if (File.Exists(sDrivePath))<br />
bmpYourImage = new Bitmap(sDrivePath);<br />
You can then create a new Image object from the Bitmap object, sounds good to me

Tnx, sounds like a great Idea, but my URL is longer than 260 chars and I therefore get a System.IO.PathTooLongException. I have no way to pysically shorten the URL, because it is from a web resource...

Now we're facing an entirely diffrent problem... and to be hounest, not a problem I ran into yet, so I'll leave it up to the other guys for now.. sry..

Problem solved.
I used Keilholz approach and solved the URL length exception by creating the image based on inputstream (With the URL as source). I were then able to store the image locally on the web server.
Thank you for your help!

You can either choose to store them in your web.config file, or to store them in a seperate data source, where a datasource can be a database, an excel sheet or even a plain text file. It's all up to your imagination...

Can I write multiple delete statements for the delete button click in the gridview?
Normally gridview facilitates us to give a single deletecommand for deleting the record. If the record has to be deleted from various tables, what can be done. Please advise.
Thanks,

There's a ServiceController object which enables you to check for services and their status. Note, if you want to do so, you need enough rights (permission) to do so. You might find your default internet guest account has not enough rights so you may consider running your app impersonate.

Erhm, your question is not really clear to me, but I think you can solve your problem using JavaScript. There are to objects available which could be your parent window.
window.parent
window.owner
I have no time for testing at this moment so I leave it op to you which one is the correct one but that't the way to communicate with your parent window.

If you have created a window using the showModalDialog function, there is a result parameter that you can query from the calling form.
e.g.
var returnValue = window.showModalDialog(<<parameters here>>);
if (returnValue != undefined && returnValue != '')
{
alert(returnValue);
}
In your modal dialog, you may have something like this:
window.returnValue = 'Hello from the modal dialog';
Arthur Dent - "That would explain it. All my life I've had this strange feeling that there's something big and sinister going on in the world."
Slartibartfast - "No. That's perfectly normal paranoia. Everybody in the universe gets that."
Deja View - the feeling that you've seen this post before.
