I am running SBS (full Active Directory/Exchange etc) on Computer A, Computer A is old and sucks. Computer B is new(er) and doesn't suck. I want to make Computer B my SBS server and get rid of Computer A, but I don't want to loose all my Active Directy logins/config/etc or my mail/calander/etc in exchange. Hopefully that makes sense.

Hi,
I am the administrator of my system. My system is in network.I don't know Why a read-only property is set to my project Folder.
I have Visual Studio workspace in that folder . I have created VC++ project .Now, When I try to add new Functions using the workspace I am getting error saying that "Add/Remove Operation is Impossible because the codeelement CMYdialog is ReadOnly" .
Is there any way where I can remove the ReadOnly Property?
Any Suggestions would be helpful.
Today is a gift, that's why it is called the present.

Right-click the project folder then pick Properties. Clear the Read-Only checkbox, then click OK. When the dialog comes up asking "Confirm attribute changes?", make sure you click the option that says "Apply changes to this folder, subfolders and files", then click OK.

You'll have to be logged in as an Administrator user...
Right-click MyComputer and pick Properties, then the User Profiles tab. If the old profile is still there you can click on it, then click the Copy To button to copy it to the profile of new ID you're using.
Failing that, you can go into the C:\Documents and Settings folder and find the UserID folder of the old ID you were using. Copy everything in that folder, except the NTUSER.* files!!, to the new UserID folder.

Hi , Can anyone tell me what is the page size in windows memory management, in the paging and segmentation model of Window 98,2000 .. OS?
|
|
|
|
|
Generally for Win32, it is 4096 bytes.
However, you should determine it for a given platform by calling GetSystemInfo, which will fill in a SYSTEM_INFO structure for you. The page size is given by the dwPageSize value.

ASP pages don't connect to anything. They're pages that have code that either runs server-side or have VBScript and/or JavaScript that runs on the client side in a browser. So, I have no idea what you're talking about by "connect".

Connects in the sense..how can I call my shellscripts frm ASP running on windows and the scripts are in Unix boxes

The problem you have is that ASP is just code that builds HTML pages, not a language.
I don't know of an RSH component that you can include in a web page. That doesn't mean they don't exist, just that I don't know of any.
You can't use the .EXE because you can't run it from inside a browser.

Hi,
i'm trying to automate a task through batch file. I'm trying to make a backup of a folder using winrar (rar.exe console app), but i cant get to name the file using the current date (or time).
Here's what i'm doing,
assume there is a folder named "data"
to rar the folder, i do this
rar a backup.rar data\
which works fine. (Creates a backup.rar file with all files in the data folder)
Now, the windows xp sp2 command line
date /t
returns the current system date like this
c:\>date/t<br />
24-Nov-06
I want to append the date to the file name, so that the rar operation would look like this
(expected output - backup-24-Nov-06.rar)
rar a backup-%1.rar data\
Where %1 is the date. How can i pipe the output of date /t to rar?
I tried creating a batch file
test.bat
rar a backup-%1.rar data\
and call it these ways
test date/t<br />
or<br />
test < date/t<br />
or<br />
date/t | test<br />
but none works.
Can anyone who can help me on this (any solution, with or without batch file usage)?

Try the predefined %DATE% variable (it's works for me on Vista, not sure if it's in previous OSes though).

Thanks! It works fine in Windows XP SP2 too!
