Thanks for the article Vasudevan, appreciate it.
-I was wondering if the same would apply to the user contols also? The site that I'm woring on has lots of user controls and my manager wants the menus on the site to be driven by these Hot keys (alt + something else) as well.
-In addition I would like a key combination, for instance to get to the main page (perhaps ALT + H...to get to the homepage located at www.google.com). As this would just be a link how do I set up these access keys property you told me about. Or is it that a link will probably renders as a div...so I could aplly it on there.
Please let me know if you have anymore information available on these topics.
Thank you very much for the time.
Sam

Hi,
I am using the treeview control to display a tree. I'd like to be able to display images and an html table in the tool tip of each node, customised to each node.
I understand I could do this using Javascript to create floating elements, but 'am hoping to find an easier solution with .net.
I appreciate any info provided regarding this.
Thanks in advance.

The easiest is using Javascript as you mentioned.

This can make your job a bit easy:

Its a based object oriented javascript tooltip.
It supports some basic animation and adjustable opacity.
Check out the examples. Hope it makes things bit easier for you!

You are able to use codeproject forums, I can't see why you can't figure out Google\MSDN.

Hi,
I’ve got an ASP.NET 2.0 web application that requires SSL. In addition, the pages are configured to use Integrated Windows Authentication. I am having a problem getting automatic authentication to work for internal network users. If they try to access the page using an internal server name in the Url, the authentication takes place automatically but they must first deal with a warning page (in IE7) that alerts them to a problem with the site’s security certificate since the names don’t match up. However, if they access the page using the fully-qualified domain they get a dialog box asking them to authenticate. I thought if I added the fully-qualified secure domain name (https://mydomain.com) to the exception list (in IE7’s settings) for bypassing the proxy server the security credentials would carry through. But it’s not happening. How can I get integrated authentication to work while still using SSL?
Thanks for your help.

Via code or the designer? If you are using code then there really is no point in the object datasource.
For exaple
MyDataObject obj = new MyDataObject;
DataSet ds = obj.getDataSetMethod(dropdownlist.selectedValue);
Gridview.DataSource = ds;
Gridview.Databind();

But of course, that's all a "high level" overview of things

I'm writing an RDLC report and want to display the row number in my table. Does anyone know the expression for this? I can't find anything related to this in the expression editor.
Thanks!
Roger.

The systax is =RowNumber(Scope as String);
Scope as String is the "name of a dataset, grouping, or data region that contains the report items to which to apply the aggregate". per msdn2
So if you have a table in your report named table2 the sytax would be...
=RowNumber("table2")
Hope this helps let me know if you need anything else.

That works perfect. Thank you!

I am fairly new to ASP.NET. However, using VS 2005 under .NET 2.0, I have developed a browser hosted image viewing control, with corresponding server side control for easier configuring.
It is my understanding that these controls run with partial trust from web zone sandboxes. However, I am in need of connecting to the Office Outlook Interop to send emails from that control. It works flawlessly when running the control within a WinForm app. However, when running it within an HTML page, I am getting an error "That assembly does not allow partially trusted callers." (referring to the Interop Outlook COM object).
Is there any way to allow this to work. I think the only way to get it to work is to give it full trust, but there appears to be no way get the control to run within a sandbox that allows this to happen.
I tried installing it in the GAC, but the HTML page can't find the control if I run it from there. It runs fine if it downloads into the download assembly cache, but the email feature gives the above error.
Our web site is a highly secure web site. The pages which will be using this control will be running at customer sites connecting to our secure servers to retrieve and view various images. It is therefore crucial that this be allowed to work, as we are attempting to replace an excruciatingly slow Java applet with this ability on all of our sites.

What Outlook are you trying to connect to? One on your servers or on the clients machine? If the latter, is there a reason you can't use a simple mailto link?

Please tell me the steps I need to take to use a web service in asp.net2 ???

Add a reference to the web service, that will create a wrapper class for the service. Create an instance of the class and use the methods in it.
