I hate using Visual Studio, or any IDE for that matter.
They bloat the code, and pull in stupid things which I don't
need.
The only way to have complete control over EVERY NOOK and CRANNY
is to do things manually.
When I used to develop in Java, I never used an IDE. I built
some killer apps (Limewire like Network P2P) using notepad
and command prompt javac. That's it.
Personally, I feel there's nothing that can be done using
an IDE and not raw tools like a text editor and compiler.
In short, LOVE HANDCODING FROM SCRATCH!

wow...! when i first started C i did it with notepad and tc for a few months , and then when i learnt java i did it with javac for about a month but i would really take a hell lot of time and make a good amount of syntax errors! so i got IDE's a little later!

Hi...
I want to change the 'Opacity' property of my form when i move my form using mouse from one place to another while application is running. I want same effect as we can see when we get an exception while debugging any application in VS2005. We get one form & if we try to move that form its opacity chnges & that form becomes normal when we stop moving that form.
My application is a MDI application & i want to change the Opacity of child Form.
Thank & Regards,
Vinay

Quoted from MSDN -Click here to read the article[^]-
"Note The MDI child form you create in this step is a standard Windows Form. As such, it has an Opacity property, which allows you to control the transparency of the form. However, the Opacity property was designed for top-level windows. Do not use it with MDI child forms, as painting problems can occur."

Hi ,
My subject almost covers my question , i have a datagridview , with information about the status of a hotel on a given day. Now i cant just print the whole datagridview , the print is BASED on the datagridview ,some values have to be changed some filtered. So i need to use the printdocument class to print a table , i have used the class to print text , BUT how do i draw lines and fill the insides with text???
Could some one please point me to an article or give me some example
Thanks
Gideon

In the PrintDocument.PrintPage event the PrintPageEventHandler has a member called Graphics that you can use to draw the table and the text.
PS.
Did you take a look at the printing section of C# articles[^]?

Hai, Currently I'm developing a Virtual Library and I decide to use C#.NET, MS Access for the database, and IE or FireFox for the data viewer.
Another thing is, I DON'T want to use any Database Servers (IIS) and ASP.NET.
Well, can someone give a direction?
thanks for your help.
Enjoy It!

Why have you selected a browser as data viewer if you don't want to use a web interface?

To be able to apply theme easily. so, the App is like an Offline website. Maybe the usage of C#.NET to implement it is not right...
the example of the application that I want is:
like MSDN from VS and Encarta from MSN.
MSDN and Encarta runs on a browser but they have a database structure for the data and also the interface is Web like and MSDN and Encarta use no DB server.
Well, that's what I mean. and don't be confused.
Thx
Enjoy It!

You don't need to use a database server to use a web interface. IIS is a web server, not a database server.
If you want a dynamic web server instead of IIS, take a look at Cassini.

That's good, because IIS isn't a database server.

Well, sorry my mistake IIS is a web server. And in my first post, I meant it too. So, I dont want any servers including Web Server.
and for my example of Encarta, I bought Encarta CDs, install it, that's it. I can browse (offline-ly of course) and search data in it.
So I guess, Encarta must have used a database to store its data and Encarta uses no Web Servers because when I installed it, I didn't configure or install any Web Servers.
Well, it's confusing.
Enjoy It!

Not really.
Although this is an old example (I'm sure there are more current examples), this demo interacts with a webpage through a windows application.
