Chris
To add on to what PJ has said, by popular I would think article-views would be a better indication of that than the ratings. So instead of showing the 4 top-most rated articles, please show the top-4-most-viewed articles

Isn't that sort of self-feeding though? I mean, the articles listed in the quick-links would be prolly clicked on more, thus becoming even more most-viewed.
omg, what awful grammar i have today...

With all these hot new CP editors flashing there kewl icons everywhere, whould it be possible on the articles that they edit to have one line eg edited by James T Johnson that way if an editor isn't performing well, we'll know where to portion the blame.

Yep - it is. Most of the plumbing is in place but I had to pull the 'Edited By' tag because of the backend redesign. It's one of those things that I thought "No one will notice if it's gone a day or two".
How wrong I am

I thought I'd toss another mail into Chris's inbox whilst he was away. How about doing a simple search/replace during the process of submitting a post which would translate CodeGuru pseudo-tags into real HTML tags? Like, replace
with <pre> and
with </pre> and so on.

Why would anyone use
tags? Do they do that in CodeGuru. And will this automatic replacement, help former codeguru-posters to post here easily? Is this suggestion to make the transition easier. I am not a former codegur-guy like the rest of you. I am a native CPian. Born here, grew up here. To me Codeguru is a just folk-lore. That's why I ask all these questions.

Yeah the
tags were big and a revolution when first used at CodeGuru.
