I have problem in writing it. Can anyone help me and give me the code in C# ...?
I have created the table in database and the program is connected to database . I know I need to insert text(messsage) into database but how can I SHOW the posted message in the page...??
I want to show all the posts and the last post in the page...like here ...
This is all far too vague - we don't know anything about the architecture of your application, the data model you are using etc. Your question is too general and so any meaningful answer would likely take many pages.
You have to be specific. What exactly do you need help with?

We are not going to do that - In order to do that would take more space that is wise for a forum post.
You must try first, and when you get stuck you can come for help but we are not going to give you the "entire" code for the "whole" project. Not unless you are willing to pay us - we are not here to do your work for you. We are here becuase we like to help people, but we are only willing to help those that at least make an attempt themselves.

What have you done so far? You may want to start by scoping out the project in more detail. Then building the app is pretty straight forward from there.

I have XmlNodeList as result from Xpath query to already XmlDocument.
This node list can get "Attributes", "Element Nodes" etc. I want to show that XmlNodeList in properly indented form in a richtextBox.
I have found a XmlReader setting in which i can set indentation true. But how i will use it with XmlNodeList.
Please guide. Thank you.

I would like to build an application to capture a webcam output every 30 minutes or so.
The particular webcam seems to use javascript to run a native app which generates a png file.
When viewing from IE or Firefox, the image is visible and can be save with a right click, save as.
My first attempt was to follow the steps outlined in
"How to use HttpWebRequest and HttpWebResponse in .NET"
but the result was a copy of the html page source.
Ok, clearly my app needs "browser-like" abilities to interpret the html and javascript.
The "Web Browser" control doesn't seem to have the properties needed to capture the image.
Can anyone suggest an approach for C#.NET?
Thank you,
Mark

I'm playing around with some image processing. What I have is a picture of an object on a (mostly) white background and what I want to do is determine the overall color of the object. I checked out this excellent article:
http://www.codeproject.com/cs/media/edge_detection.asp
And it looks like the difference edge detect works really well for my pictures. If I run it on my image I get a black image with a bright outline of the object I'm looking for. What I would like to do is use this image to determine which pixels are part of the object and which are part of the background and then apply that to the original image. My problem is that I'm not sure what the best method is for determining which pixels are within the bright boundary and which are not (since the points are black on both sides!). Does anybody have any suggestions here? Or maybe I should try something different altogether?
I thought maybe Region or GraphicsPath could help, but I'm not sure how to use them.
Thanks

Possible algorithm:
1) determine closed contour (seems like you have that already) and color it
2) find one pixel inside contour
3) fill with contour color starting from there (there are some good flood fill articles on CP)
4) now "AND" this result with original
If you need the other half of the image, make step 2 look for a pixel outside !

That's a very good point. I guess I should view it at a flood fill problem and go from there. Thanks!

how can i convert VS2005 projects to VS2003, somebody send url:
http://www.codeproject.com/macro/vsconvert.asp
it contain one zip file it converts vs2005 projects to vs2003. but the tools also they develop in VS2005 but i want that type of tool in VS2003.
this is haneef

Just install the 2.0 framework and the EXE will work. Then you can use the app to convert the project from 2.0 to 1.1.
If they are using 2.0 specific code, you need S.O.L. insurance.

The article you refer to doesn't convert VS2005 to VS2003, but rather VS.NET 7.0 to VS.NET 7.1.
You want something like this: Whidbey to Everett Project Converter (VS2005 to VS2003)[^]

Hi-
I'm about to embark on a new project, developing a couple of different tools and I don't know what C# Winforms Control set to use. In the past I've used Syncfusion controls (in my day job) to create Outlook style applications. I've also used Component One, but they're also too expensive.
Also, I now prefer the look and feel of an Active Panel style approach where the application has a container (I Guess its an MDI Parent) and a user can turn off/on panels and drag them around, and access all the panels at once.
I guess what I'd like to know is, what GUI Components do you use? What can people recommend? I'd prefer something free or very cheap, and something that looks good! I guess those things may be at odds.
Any advice/tips/ideas you have would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers

We're using DevComponents DotNetBar. It looks good, and doesn't cost a lot of money, but it does get upgraded frequently (plus you can use it to mimic the new Office look and feel).
Arthur Dent - "That would explain it. All my life I've had this strange feeling that there's something big and sinister going on in the world."
Slartibartfast - "No. That's perfectly normal paranoia. Everybody in the universe gets that."
Deja View - the feeling that you've seen this post before.

Thanks Pete! That's exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for. I might download the eval and give it a try.
Looks like a pretty extensive suite of tools/support.
Thanks again,

hi there,
I'm in need for a method which rounds a decimal number to the next full integer, e.g. 1.1 becomes 2 (instead of 1, like if you use Math.Round() ).
Can somebody help? Thanks in advance!

Math.Ceiling is what you're looking for. You can also create your own (for practice reasons) that adds 5 to the decimal position +1 passed as a parameter.
So, 1.1 would become 1.6 and round to 2.

I am searching for a few days now, but I didn't find any examples of creating a System.Drawing.Bitmap without using unsafe code.
I've an int[] with one pixel in BGRA per int. The pixel values are created in my program, so I don't have any loadable bitmap so far.
I tried to create a bitmap via
new Bitmap(Int32 width, Int32 heigth, int32 stride, System.Drawing.Imaging.PixelFormat format, IntPtr scan0);
but I didn't get the IntPtr to refer to the data correctly.
If anyone has an idea how to correctly create that bitmap, I'd appreciate your help.
thanks in advance,
Norbert

Hi,
I have not done this for bitmaps yet, but passing a sound array to the unmanaged
function PlaySound() requires a pointer to a data object (array) that can not be
moved by the GC; see GCHandle and pinning in code snippet below.
Stream stream=type.Assembly.GetManifestResourceStream(resourceName);
int len=(int)stream.Length;
byte[] buf=new byte[len];
stream.Read(buf, 0, len);
GCHandle handle=GCHandle.Alloc(buf);
IntPtr ptr=Marshal.UnsafeAddrOfPinnedArrayElement(buf, 0);
int res=sndPlaySound(ptr, 4);
handle.Free();
I expect what you need is very similar to the above.
Don't forget to free the handle when the pinning is no longer needed (otherwise
the GC can not collect or even move it, possibly ending up in out-of-memory problems).

Thanks for your reply. I'm getting a valid (non zero) IntPtr with your help, so I can create a new System.Drawing.Bitmap. The saved image is not what I did expect, but that's a problem with the PixelFormat.
So thank you very much for your help.
