I would recommend you to do the encryption in c# code, if its just a password field i would prefer a one way hash

Hi All
I am a novice/intermediate use of SQL Server 2000 so please go easy.
I am interested to know how to add passwords for users in the database in an encrypted fasion, so basically even if a person has access to the database they cannot obtain peoples passwords, is there an easy and logical way of doing this?
Any examples or advice,pls suggest me.
Thanks
monika

You might take a look at XP_Crypt (http://www.xpcrypt.com/[^]). It is an add-on that you can use with SQL 2000 and do inline encryption/decryption in your SQL statements.

You don't need to. Place the div for the sub menu inside the div for the menu item, and position it absolutely. Set position: relative on the menu item so that the sub menu will be positioned relative to that.

b { font-weight: normal; }

If an object isn't set to position:absolute, it doesn't have a top / left value, so you won't ever be able to get it - suggest going for position:absolute; left:0px; top:0px;

i have sent single or two datas thro' query string. But not the xml. How to send and receive a xml form client page to server page ?
can we use cookiee, session or anything else ?
Help me..

You could send the xml as a string and then parse it on the server. This, however, seems like too much trouble. Coudn't you just send an array of strings or something? I know that some AJAX libraries allow you to send more complex data types.

How do I programmatically add an internal style tag to the header in an ASP.NET page? Eg. like...
<head><br />
<title>Title</title><br />
<style type="text/css"><br />
<br />
p<br />
{<br />
font-size: 70%;<br />
margin-bottom: 4px;<br />
font-family: Verdana, Sans-Serif;<br />
}<br />
<br />
</style><br />
</head>
I want to programmatically add/manipulate the <style type="text/css"> tag from the code behind. Any ideas?

Use a FileUpload control.
---
b { font-weight: normal; }

|
|

Where can I find one of those?
rob

System.Web.UI.WebControls.FileUpload
---
b { font-weight: normal; }

Is fileupload available in .net 1.1?

Yes. It is available in the Visual Studio's HTML Controls (toolbox). When you add it just remember to make it runat=server .
When the page postbacks you can access the file by fileUpload1.postedFile , if i'm not mistaken.

This forum is open source so you can download it.
A couple versions available, see David Wulff's version which seems to be complete http://www.codeproject.com/asp/aspforum-n-membersys.asp[^]
Otherwise just do a search on CodeProject and you can find plenty stuff.
