just make sure when buying one to take a good look into the index to make sure it covers almost everything "sockets are missing most of the time!"

If you are intermediate programmer with good background, usually by now you should be looking for best practices, not just knowledge. You may find some advanced books on topic -usually the is no book on advanced C# as a whole with very few exceptions-. For example you might look for books on Database programming, advanced remoting, network programming with C#, etc.. You can browser sites like Amazon[^] for that.
Yet in sites like CodeProjects you would find articles written by people who faced certain problems and solved them. These articles usually provide very practical solutions to problems and are one of the best way to increase your knowledge in programming.
Also forums and discussion borads -again like those in CP- ,offer you a much wider range of problems -and programming by some definitions is no more than problem solving-. There you'd find wide variation of problems that people faced, and this encourages you to search for an answer to help, and in the same time to learn. Even if you didn't get an answer, usually there are more experienced programmers who would provide a best answer for most of the question -most of the time a question would have more than one good answer-. You can learn and increase your knowledge by just browsing problems and their solution.

As an "Intermediate" C# programmer, I'm willing to bet you have the basics down, and are looking for more refined study. Check out the Microsoft .Net Development series for more guided study into specific areas of C# programming (I do a lot of windows forms development, so I have their books on ADO, Forms Programming, and Forms Databinding).

Refering below, will the code in finally block be executed even if a return is called in the try block?
void Somefunc()
{
try {
.
.
return;
}
catch(Exception) {
.
.
}
finally {
.
SomeCode();
}
}

I dont think i would be so free to do such things. Anyway i was trying to confirm if finally would be called, but i seem to forgot that i could easiy test it out.
Regardless i saw a link[^] about this. Just for anyone who is interested.

hahhahaa
nice one but you should answer him cz maybe he is knew on C#.
The answer is that the finally clause is executed in all the senarios
good luck

It is. The purpose of a finally block is to guarantee that a piece of code will be run, regardless of what else happens in the try catch block. This gives you the ability to guarantee that cleanup code will be carried out.

Please don't paste your entite question in the subject field. I see that you have done this with most of your questions since your arrived. The subject is supposed to be a short description of the content of the post.
The people who offer advice here do it on their spare time out of the goodness of their hearts. If you don't make any effort to make your post easy to read, they will feel that you don't appreciate their effort, and will not bother to read it.
