It should be
yourbuttonname.Attributes.Add("OnClick","_Wait()");
protected void yourbuttonname_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)<br />
{<br />
Label13.Text = TextBox1.Text;<br />
}<br />
Hope this helps

Was that _Wait() function even called? Where is that script located? In head? Do you get any javascript errors in browser? Is that label's id really "Label13"? Could be as well someControl$ctrl00$Label13 or something...

Does anyone have a simple explanation of what [Bindable(true)] does?
thanks

It tells the design-time system that a property is one that is intended to be data-bindable in normal scenarios. Only properties with [Bindable(true)] applied can be bound using the designer. At runtime, however, any property can be data-bound, regardless of whether it is marked as bindable.

OK thanks. I take it to mean that databinding to a non-bindable property will not have any visible effect. MSDN says something about raising a notification when it's changed.

Hi. I am developing a graphics intensive application where I need to save a certain state of the grapfics object in an Image (much like when you save someting you have drawn in PhotoShop for example).
Does anyone know how I can do that?
|
|
|
|
|
A Graphics object does not have any state that you can save as an image. A Graphics object is only used for the drawing, it does not contain the graphics.

Use GetGraphics from the control of which you want save the content, then use the DrawImage method on the graphic context this gets you to draw the content to an image.

Hi,
I was wondering how i can overwrite an existing xml file when a row is deleted in datagridview with the data that currently is in the gridview?
The same data in an xml file are displayed in this datagridview. So i want to keep the xml file updated.
I got this event handler declared:
this.grid.RowsRemoved += new DataGridViewRowsRemovedEventHandler(grid_RowsRemoved);
private void grid_RowsRemoved(object sender, DataGridViewRowsRemovedEventArgs e)
{
//throw new Exception("The method or operation is not implemented.");
}
But i have no idea how to check what row is removed and to what child it is in an xml file.
Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Not certain of best place to post this - though thought readers of this board may
be able to answer my question or point me in the right direction.
I have a Web App that requires confirmation of when the user logs out.
Have successfully been able to handle this by calling a WebService when
the windows closes using the onunload event.
This works fine whether the user logs out using my logout link or even if
they use the [x] on the Browser window.
However I would like the option of halting the shutdown under certain circumstances.
This is O.K with my logout link but when the user clicks the [x] the browser always
closes.
I have found one way by using the following Javascript: window.open(parent.location);
This reloads the page but looses any changes made to the form by the user that have yet to be saved. As it is this I am trying to handle it some what defeats the object (ie: If the user makes changes to the form and tries to close before submitting I want to give them the option to save or ignore).
I need to find a way to stop the closing of the Browser mid-flow when the user uses the
[x] and keep the same page visible with the same data.
Thanks for any advice
Andrew

Web sites are stateless, so you can't tell if the use has gone off, died or pulled the plug on the pc. If the user hits a logout button then you can tell they have left the site so you need to look for session end in all other cases. This can only be done on the server end rather on the client end.
If you are using .NET then tie the session to a login then once the session ends you can handle this with the session_end event and handle that the user has left the system/application

Hi,
Sorry I do not think I have made myself clear.
I know Web Sites are stateless - what I am after (maybe NOT possible but I have found similar questions and limited answers, see my earlier email) is to know whether it is possible to catch the close [x] event and when required stop the Browser window closing.
I am catching the close[x] event however what I have not been able to do is stop the window closing. Another suggestion I have seen is to the onbeforeunload event, but this does allow me to do quite what I want.
I was merely checking whether anyone on the Message Board had any better ideas...
Thanks again
Andrew

There is no way to stop a browser window from closing on the client side. Either from code running inside the browser session or from the server side. Once that little [X] is clicked, that's it, you're done.

Hi everyone,
I have a problem with a user control I have built for my application. I have a vertical scrollbar on the right of the control. The application is an MDI app, so when I scroll down in this control, and click on an item in it, it loads another form. However when I return to the original control, the scrollbar is still in the position I left it.
Basically, I need some way to force the scrollbar to reset its position to the top, possibly using an onfocus event or similar, but have been unable to find a way of doing this so far.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Depending on how you've written your control (and how it inherits), something like the following might help:
theObject.AutoScrollPosition = new System.Drawing.Point(0, 0);
theObject.AutoScrollPosition = new System.Drawing.Point(0, Y);

Thanks man,
I managed to produce a similar solution myself, appreciate the reply!

hi,
i have an application to develop. one of its part is to make a form for the new users to register.
I have some restrictions on the user name that i should specify.
One of the restrictions is that a user name can not include special characters of any kind. (Don't ask me why cz the project manager wants so).
the following special characters are restricted:
~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ + = -| \ } ] { [ : ” ’ ; ? / > < , .
so if anybody has a regular expression for such a case please give it to me cz i am not that good in regular expressions.
Thanks in advance
best regards

But not characters like these?
" ' ` ¨ ½ § £ € Í Ò ñ å Ä ô ü ì î ä Ô Ë Ö Å ÿ õ
Those are just a few of the characters I can type directly on my keyboard. There are more, and then there are thousand of other special characters in the unicode character set.
You should define the characters that are allowed instead. That will be much easier.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
That's good.
Thank you man.
I will define it to accept only alphanumeric characters and that will be fine for the manager i think.
I should have thought about that before asking in here.
Thank you Guffa.

Guffa one more question plz
i am verry bad in regular expressions
so can you please tell me how to do that regular expression
|
|
|

Perhaps something like:
^[0-9A-Za-z]+$
