INSERT statement conflicted with COLUMN FOREIGN KEY constraint 'FK_Client'. The conflict occurred in database 'sam', table 'ClientStatus', column 'client_id'. The statement has been terminated.
I want to know why it is giving this error and how to resolve this error.
Thanks in Advance,

Because you have related tables. The insert breaks the relationship in some way. There is other data (probably in a table called Client) that needs to be inserted first.

hey, it's all about the relations in ur DB. for sure u r having a releation between the clientstatus and client_id and the primary key in the client_id doesn't exist in the other table. i mean the value.

There are two reasons for this:
1. You are using IE 6 as reference, which is a bad move. IE 6 is the one of the current browsers that is by far the worst at rendering pages correctly. I advice you to use a standards compliant browser when designing instead (which basically means any other browser). It's much easier to tweak a design to also support IE 6, than to tweak a design from supporting only IE 6 to supporting all other browsers also.
2. You are using tables for layout. A table adjusts itself according to it's contents, and it's not clearly defined exactly how this should be done. The result is that all browsers do this slightly differently.

FireFox has a Dom inspector. IE has one as well from MS. That is what I use to tweak my HTML.

how to get each value and its text from a CheckBoxList. When an item is selected, it should display the selected item's value and its text using javascript. One more, how to insert a new item to the checkboxlist using the same javascript.

Hi!
I have a page (A) with an iframe in it.
In the iframe i have another page (B).
Is there a way in codebehind (C#) to get a handle to from page(B) to page(A)?
Please help!
Thanx!

No, there isn't.
Although the page in the iframe is visible inside the other page, they are in fact separate windows. The concept of separate windows is handled entirely by the browser, the server is not at all aware of the relation between the windows in the browser.
What is sent to the server is just a request for a page, there is no information of where (or even if) the page will be displayed. The server just returns the response for the requested page, it has no way of accessing any other windows that the browser might have.
If you want to access other windows, you have to put client script in the page that does that.

Hi All,
I have a problem in my web service application. I have created the web service in visual studio 2005 in which a method ReceiveMsg(string strMessage) accept the string(in Xml format) from the client and created the xml file. The web service is hosted on the IP(.203) , when I access this service from another IP(.73) it working fine and return “SUCCESS”. But when the client accesses this service they receive the “Fail” message. I have created the log file for this method. When client access this method a message “string instance not set to an instance of the string” is inserted into the log file.
Following is the code of the ReceiveMsg(string strMessage) method.
[WebMethod]
public string ReceiveMsg(string strMessage)
{
string strFinalResponse = null;
try
{
strFinalResponse = "SUCCESS";
intNo++; // this is static variable.
string strdocPath;
strdocPath = "C:\\RQFEED\\RQ"+intNo+".XML";
Byte[] docbinaryarray = Encoding.GetEncoding(1253).GetBytes(strMessage);
FileStream objfilestream = new FileStream(strdocPath, FileMode.Create, FileAccess.ReadWrite);
objfilestream.Write(docbinaryarray, 0, docbinaryarray.Length);
objfilestream.Close();
CreateLogFiles Err = new CreateLogFiles();
Err.ErrorLog(Server.MapPath("Logs/ErrorLog"), strMessage);
return strFinalResponse;
}
catch (Exception ex)
{
strFinalResponse = "FAIL";
CreateLogFiles Err = new CreateLogFiles();
Err.ErrorLog(Server.MapPath("Logs/ErrorLog"), ex.Message);
return strFinalResponse;
}
}
Please help me as asap.
Thanks with Regards

I'm looking for some code to be able to open an application through a asp webpage (C# code behind). I know how to do this through a windows application, but the same code does not apply to web apps. Any suggestions?
|
|
|
|

If you want to open the application on the server,the same code should apply. However this will fail unless you change the permissions;
Doing this on the client is more difficult.
One way of doing it is to install a protocol for the application. Another one would be using an ActiveX control.

Dear All,
I am using ASP.NET 1.1 version. I am using the below connection string. My database server name is "KUMAR" & Database name "AIMS" and I am using "Windows Authentication".
constr="workstation id=KUMAR;packet size=4096;user id=sa;integrated security=SSPI;data source=KUMAR;persist security info=False;initial catalog=AIMS";<br />
<br />
SqlConnection con=new SqlConnection(constr);
I am getting error in the below code:
con.Open();
Exception Details: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Login failed for user 'SETHU\ASPNET'.
Can any one help me to solve this? I believe that my Connection String is not well formed.
(Note: I have just copied it from the auto generated connection string, while configuring the SqlDataAdapter)
Regards,
Jay

Where is the password i think you have put it
pwd=sa;
con=("server=(local);user id=sa;pwd=sa;database=pubs")
or
con=("server=(local);integrated security=true;database=pubs")
