Hello,
This is using Visual Studio 2005.
I have created a simple web service on my local machine. I added the web reference and everything works fine.
However, when i add an web reference from my remote web server it adds the web reference, but there is no wsdl document.
From my local machine I have under the web reference the following files: Reference.map, service.disco, service.wsdl.
On my remote web server I have the following: Reference.map, service.disco. The service.wsdl is missing. I not sure that it can be an access problem as I am able to download the other files.
I have always created web service on my local machine, this is the first time from a remote server.
Can anyone provide any guidance on how to solve this problem.
Many thanks in advance,
Steve

does the javascript provides an access to a file in the client side (not cookies)
for example the client wrote a message in the textbox and he wont to save the text in a file in his machine (that means the operation will be done if he permit it) ... and i want to provide this service by clickin on a button for example...and the js shall create a file in his machine and flush the txt into the file...
So, does JS?

You can do this with ActiveXObbjects in IE. Google it. You can't do it in any other browser.

this.RegisterStartupScript("Closer","window.returnValue=true;window.close();");
Can I insert any javascript funtion in the above code, which contains some client validations, and then close it. And remember those values I want to use in the Main or Parent window. Can I do like that. If so, please give me some snippet of code. I need it please.

Keep in the thread that you already started. Posting the same question everywhere only is annoying.
Also, using "Dear all" as subject is not very useful. The only thing that it can be used for really is avoiding threads that you have created.

It's amazing to see how much work some people will go through just to avoid a little bit of work.

You can just replace "window.returnValue=true;window.close();" with what the function is called and then have the function perform that code when it is finished executing.

Hi all
before sending request to web server using ajax i am creating a string with form element's name and corresponding value.the constructed string will looks like
source.asp?elementName1=elementValue1&elementName2=elementValue2&elementName3=elementValue3
the problem with the above format is:
if the elementValue itself contains any "&" symbol i can't able to get the value of the form element from server side.
is there any way to resolve this issue other than replace the "&" char with some other char ..

var location = " source.asp?elementName1=" + encodeURI(elementValue1) + "&elementName2=" + encodeURI(elementValue2) + "&elementName3=" + encodeURI(elementValue3);

Did you mean encodeURIComponent()?
I'm on-line therefore I am.

encodeURIComponent is working fine on all reserved chars where as encodeURI is limited...

Actually, i created a data grid with different bounded cloumns(one of them is body of the mail) and with one check box.
what my porblem is. if i click the perticular check box the details of body of the mail present below that cell should concatenate to the texbox which is present in one panel.
In that panel to,cc,bcc, sub, attachment and body are the fields. its just like if i click reply "the frommailid will go to tomailid and the body is concatinated to that body in Yahoomail. naa. i want exactly like that.
please reply me.........
"i want the display that perticular cell text in tooltip where i placed cursor in the cell in datagrid"
I want to slove this porblem now only. as i am a fresher i dont know much about .net thats why i am asking

You cannot close a client side browser from the server. The ability to do this would represent a major security flaw in any browser. What you can do, is to register a script to close the window automatically in the returned page. A sample for this would be:
this.RegisterStartupScript("Closer","<script language=javascript>window.returnValue=true;window.close();</script>");

I made an application using fade in fade out technique for different images. And each image is linked to a different file.
But the problem is when the image is changes we have to move the mouse so that link gets changed.
One solution for is that when image is changes the position of the mouse should be change automatically.
So if anyone knows how to change the mouse position Please send me the source code for it in VB .Net or Javascript

I don't think you can with javascript. Try an applet or ActiveX

I am building a asp.net project using javascript in places.
I am currently building some javascript in vb.net to open a new pop up.
popup = window.open('ReportPopUp.aspx?",'Report','Top=50,Left=50,titlebar=no,toolbar=no,location=no,directories=no,status=no,scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes');
is what I am using.
In the new window there is a grid but until it is built the size is unknown.
Is there a way to set the size of the new window to the size of the grid?
It does not need to resize after just the intial size on load.

You should use the body onload and then read the width of the HTML table, that was generated. Assign this with to the with of the window.

Have you tried CSS? *** Ifon't know if this will work ***
html{width:auto;}
Actually... that won't work... nvm. you'll have to use javascript.

Can I use the AJAX search API's provided by Google in .Net (C#) Applications?
If yes then how to do it? I am new to AJAX & web development in .Net.
Thanks

Offcourse. What AJAX does in the background is just sending an HTTP requist and recieving the reply.
There is a complete implementation of the HTTP protocol in .NET that you can use.

I have set the Form property to target="_blank", which opens the form in new browser window when any button is clicked. But now only for one button I want to change it(the target prpperty of form) to "_self". I want to keep the remaining same but want to chage it only for this button. May be its possible by using "javascript".
I tried in the following ways, but of no use. I would be thank ful to all of you.
function openInNewWindow() {
// Change "_blank" to something like "newWindow" to load all links in the same new window
var newWindow = window.open(this.getAttribute('http://localhost/Sample1/AsposeEx3.aspx'), '_self');
newWindow.focus();
return false;
}
function f1()
{
window.Form1.target="_self";
}
function f2()
{
window.Form1.target="_self";
window.open("http://localhost/Sample1/AsposeEx3.aspx");
}
function f2()
{
window.Form1.target="_self";
window.location="http://localhost/Sample1/AsposeEx3.aspx"
}
