hi,
u can easily do it by string reader n writer
make a template in .html both at source n destination
read the data from the source from string reader
store the data in a varible
replace in the destination file through writer
in btwn u have to go by complex coversion of string data type.

Hi,
I am working in a project realted students. I would like to check the student email ID using regular expressions. Can any one help me in checking the email address as "webmaster@osu.edu" ? It should not accept the normal email addresses. Should only take the email address with .edu
Please help me in this. Thank you.

Have you tried googling for info on common email patterns for regex, and then modifying them to only take .edu addresses ?
There's a program called Expresso that's available on this site, it's got example regex for emails, and is great for testing regex.

i have an aspx page that i create a session but whenever i move from that page to another page withing my webapplication, the session keeps on clearing.
and then when i try and debug the page it seems like once the user moves to another page the session is deleted when
i made this assumption bcuz when i debuged it said that session=null (for example)

What does your code look like ? How is your session state set up ( for example, is it set to use SQL Server as a store ) ?

either Add a global.asax file OR add some (atleast one ) value in session;
like Session["test"]="test"; In page_load of the first page. Then check.

|
|
You can't create a session, so I assume that it is a session variable that you actually create.
The session variables are never cleared by themselves, so a possible reason is that you are getting a different session, and thus a different Session object that has it's own session variables, but not the ones you created in the previous session.
Print out the Session.SessionID value on the page, so that you see if it changes.

You obviously cannot run an executable on the client. On the server, why would you want to ? Process.Start will run an exe, but it's not going to do anything for the client to run an exe on the server, right ?

You can try this
System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("notepad.exe");
to open any application from asp.net

Please try to put a meaningful subject on your posts.
To move values between pages, you can store them in session state or on the URL, as someone said. You can also do a cross page postback, although, to be honest, the mechanism provided is close to ridiculous and close to useless, it would probably do what you want in this instance.

Dear all,
Here my qustions is,how to store a variable in asp.net webform???
I know storing variables in labels, session, viewstate.
other than this can we use any other type???
bcz i need to store number of varibles to maintain its state.
Give me suggestion.which i have to use to increase the speed of my application???
Thanks in advance

i probably think that instead of having a separate session variable or viewstate etc for each one you may have a few ones by combining them into a string and then saving them in a single variable ..
finally when u need any value just use string function to spit the string at start of form and then take the required element from the list..
but u need to maintain a standard format for the string which has valuse
i hope that will help
|
|
|
|
|
I could not understand wat exactly u r telling.
I need to store the state of the varibles, and if used more labels or session variables ,the speed of the application will decrease.
Wat is This string type??Simple string varibales or anything.Whether it will maintain the state of the variable throughout the application???
Give me an idea.
THanks for ur answer

what i mean is use a string to save a group of values seperated by commas or any separation character then then you can save it in the session variable so that it stays throught the application ...
another way for saving data throughout the application is to use a common class for the complete application which has static variables which hold ur data
as variables are static so they will have single copy and so u can maintain the values or state till the application ends..
hope i am clear now
enjoy..
