Until you mentioned it I didn't think to look. I just posted on the most likely assumption. The bio did probably rule out an IT person trying (foolishly) to bypass his employers netnanny software though.

You should be able to use a DataSet. In addition, you might want to look at XPath. Here's the link on MSDN: MSDN XPath documentation[^]
Or ofcourse if the xml file is small and a really basic xml file, you can try the XmlTextReader object, which is more easy to use. XPath is quicker though, but you might want to consider the xml text reader...

Yes christmas was good,and I left my brain in a bottle some where.
How do you convert char[] into strings and char[] into numbers ( greater that 10 eg 1234). I can manager sigles chars but the brain isn't fully functioning yet and I got new year to go yet!
Thanks.

to convert char[] into numbers you could loop through it converting each individual char into a number. Each time you move onto the next char you just multiply the number you are creating by 10 and then add the new character to it.

Thanks, but their must be better way on carring out a 'atoi' with char arrays in .Net, and still cannot find a way to convert an array of chars which is delimitted into a string.

The String class has an overloaded constructor that allows you to pass in a char array.
char[] myChars = new char[] {'A', 'B', 'C'};<br />
string myString = new string(myChars);
EDIT: oops missed the other post that points out the string constructor
int val = int.Parse(new string(myChars));

I am implementing a Case Based Reasoning (CBR) system and I would like some help with the comparison part. There are lots of cases stored in a SQL database which I query to narrow the search field but I still have several cases to compare. Each case has 10 pieces of information which I am comparing to a new case to find out how similar they are. Does anyone know a good way to do this similarity check other than just looping though each case? I am trying to find the quickest way possible.
Thanks
Adam

As to me you can try A genetic algorithm, that exploits the K-means principles for dividing objects in groups having high similarity. Those that lie with in the first, second or so would be selected as best alternatives for your search to fit to the case on hand.

How to rezise the row height in datagrid (DataGrid for Pocket PC)?
There is no DataGridColumnStyle object like for columns.

What is the C# code to add a row to a dataGrid programmaticaly??
Thanks in advance,
you can't directly add row to datagrid.
Add row to DataTable object first and bind the object to the grid.
Grid.DataSource = datatable1;

hi again,
thanks for you reply
i am trying to do it the way u told me,
is there anyway to add a data to a column. meaning to fill a column with data directly.
thanks
you can add only ColumnStyles to grid, but no data.
Add data (columns and row) to datatable, add column styles to grid, and then bind the datatable.
