I found what the problem was.
My application was reloading the page which meant that a few other subroutines were being run before the "Save" subroutine. One of those subroutines was clearing all the the fields which meant that required fields were empty before the record is stored. Hence Me.IsValid was False.
Thank you for your replies.

How can I programmatically change ASP.NET State Service startup type and also start it?

If this is a windows service, you should be able to maintain this using services.msc console.

Hi there:
Basically, you can start a service thru command line...something like this "net start <<service>>...". So you just find the syntax of command line to start asp.net state with your onw configurations...

What I mean is, I just need to change ASP.NET State Service startup type and start it from a VB.NET application. It would help if you could paste some code to illustrate.

Check your IE security settings for ActiveX in Tools>Internet Options>Security>Custom Level
You can disable ActiveX downloads, but still allow native ActiveX.

I have created a visual studio setup project for deploying my project and included a bootstrapper that checks whether the .NET Framework and Microsoft Report Viewer Redistributable 2005 is installed. The setup does the job but I don't like the way the EULAs for both components both appear first before the installation of the components commences. I would prefer that the EULA for the first component appears and the first component is installed and then the second EULA appears and the second component installs. Does anyone have any ideas about how I can achieve this using Visual Studio Setup and Deployment Projects?

I'm afraid that VS cannot give much to edit the execution order, instead you may try using the Orca[^] to open the generated msi file and jump to the execution table to see if you can edit the order.

If you want to handle Excel files, use FarPoint Spread for Web Forms[^]. It is, by far, the easiest and best way to handle Excel files on the web.

I have tried everything, its not meeting our requirements. Could you please tell me few more options. I want open just an existing file within an UI. What I want is that UI should be prepared of .Net framework. I have been searching since a long time, but not finding. I tired off doing it. Tell me if you know any such kind of thing.
And my client wants that only. But I am fedup in searching it. So please tell me if you have any Idea. Thank you.

Well - I'm out of ideas now. You need to present the alternatives to your client now and list the pros (pluses) and cons (minuses). But - you must stop asking this question when replying to other peoples posts.

Somehow Visual Studio 2005 has started using Firefox as the default browser for debugging my ASP.Net projects!
I can't say what caused it, as it started after a lot of configuaration changes on the machine including, logging onto a new domain with a new username and loading VS SP1, IE7 and Firefox 2.0.1.
Anyways, I've set the default browser to IE7, but Visual Studio still insists on loading Firefox when I debug and ASP.Net project.
Please Help!
