Yes it is running under IIS. I will not be able to change setting of IIS as it is remote server somewhere.

you have to find out if the "application" setting was set, or it may never work.

i have one .swf object how i have to call that flash to asp.net page
If you mean how do you put it on a web form, you add it using the <object tag. For instance:
<object width="200" height="150" >
<param name="movie" value="myFlash.swf" />
<embed src="myFlash.swf" width="200" height="150" />
<object>

how are you redirecting them to the new page?
I m redirecting that with javascript code.
js_script_w = "document.frmworld.submit() ;" & Chr(60) & "/script>"
Page.RegisterStartupScript("Redirect", js_script_w)
Where frmworld is the name of a Form

There may be your problem. Do a redirect or transfer on the server side.
The problem is in your JavaScript. for Mozilla the HTML objects are retrieved using document.getElementById(OBJECTNAME).
i.e. document.getElementById(OBJECTNAME) is equal to document.OBJECTNAME .
The getElementById method will also works fine in IE.

I have run into a slight problem in some VB6 code called from 'classic' asp page. The VB6 code does a bit of processing and then proceeds to insert a series of rows into a DB table within a loop, e.g.
<br />
<br />
do<br />
<br />
'call generic insert function to DB, connection opened and closed<br />
<br />
'increment counter<br />
<br />
loop<br />
<br />
And this has been working fine for many years. One client has found a problem - I debug in here and when the counter gets to around 3950 rows (changes each time), i get the following error when performing the insert:
DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
Anybody any ideas as to why this would be happening?

Take a look at the event log on the server where SQL Server sits to see if any events have been raised (such as the database shutting down).

It's a development machine i'm testing it on, with a local sql server - nothing of note in the event logs.
In that case - connect Query Analyser to this instance and take a look at all of the messages that it fires when the connection *closes". Just a thought there - you are closing the connection between saves aren't you?

I'll give that a go. And yes, they should all be closed...
Ok. Just got back to this now. We are using a single connection object that is opened at the start and then closed after performing all the inserts...
My trace just shows many Audit Logon messages rather than connection open messages.

Hi,
I have created a web page, where the user sees a list of all the available reference files present on the server.
The List is shown as
C:\XYZ\News\Ace & Star Awards.pps
C:\XYZ\Current\Bravery Awards.doc
C:\XYZ\Latest\Humanitarian Rules.txt
I have given hyperlinks to the user for each of this link by creating a hyperlink dynamically like
for (int Counter = 0; Counter < lbFiles.Items.Count; Counter++)
{
HyperLink hLink = new HyperLink( );
hLink.Text = lbFiles.Items[Counter].ToString( );
hLink.NavigateUrl = lbFiles.Items[Counter].ToString( );
Page.Controls.Add(hLink);
}
Now how do i make the webpage open the appropriate actual word/ pps or txt file as per what the link is clicked ?
Do I need to replace the C:\XYZ\News with something else ?? How do I do that ?
Pls guide me.. I have never done this before.
Thanks and best regards

This is a local file, right ? You need to read the file into memory in your page, do a response.BinaryWrite of the file bytes, and set the MIME type to correspond to the file type. Then response.End, and the file will be sent to the user. Make your link go to a page that does this for you, and it will all work.

Hi all,

If you want to show a new record every 60 seconds, you can create a timer in your page, and either refresh blindly, or use AJAX to make the calls. If the former, you need a seperate thread that collects another record every 60 seconds.
