Does anyone know how to deal with leagcy binary .dat files in VB .Net i have a few systems in VB 6 that write to .dat files 1 example is the following structure / type:
Type AccountDat
cAccount As String * 12
cCompany As String * 32
cAddress(3) As String * 32
cTelFax(1) As String * 18
cContact As String * 22
nPriceLevel As Integer
nStop As Integer
nCash As Integer
nFirst As Long
nLast As Long
nLimit As Long

My question is how do i handle these files in VB .Net
Thanks

What do you want to disable ? The odds are, the answer is 'computer says no'

Bugs can neither be created nor be removed from software by a developer. They can only be converted from one form to another. The total number of bugs in the software always remain constant.

The best way to do it is through Group Policy. Or, you can just edit the registry key that disables it. See here[^].

Isn't there a transparency property ? There was an API in C++ from W2000 to set the transparency

Oh, no, I don't think so. VB6 is very out of date, it sure predates opacity on forms.

I think you can, using some Windows API calls. These will work only OS later than Win98.
I remember seeing some code on PlanetSource a long time ago.

If C# can do it, VB.NET can probably do it.

I thought there was a CP article ? DirectShow is what you need, just download it and check the samples.

This is not a mobile phone, it's a computer. Please talk like you're older than 12.

If this is an article on the site, then that article has a forum for you to talk to the author. I would say at a guess that he/she explains how to get the SDK in the article, but either way, no-one here knows what you're talking about, and the odds are low that the article author will see this.

Click on the Build/Debug button in Visual Studio.
Trinity: Neo... nobody has ever done this before.
Neo: That's why it's going to work.

Check in the /bin folder of your project - you'll find an exe in there somewhere depending on which version of VS you are using).
