I have 2 combo named state and city.When I select state, all the related city must be loaded.I am using Ajax for this. Values of state are getting set with state Id and State name and same with city is also happening through the script.
My problem is that I am not getting the values of city on my code behind page.I getting it blank.
Please tell me how will I get the selected city name and ID

After selecting any state I am getting list cities in the city combo.But on my code behind page I am not getting the City Name and City ID.Folowing is the code:

The code is either not enough/not all the code.
Also, I get the feeling that you have not understood the code you are usng - so how do you plan to maintain it or even make it work? I may be wrong though.
Anyhow, goto to HTML Source view in the VS 2005 and find out the HTML markup for the city dropdown. Copy paste that markup here. In your code, where and how are you trying to access the city dtopdown values? that also needs to be shown to analyse this.

If you're serious about learning this stuff, then I would suggest that you start by talking a look at http://www.asp.net/[^]. This site has some great tutorials and reference samples available.
As well as this, you will need to get a couple of good books on ADO.NET and ASP.NET (search Amazon and read the customer reviews).
I would also recommend that you take a look at more general issues in web development and buy books on XHTML and CSS.

hey , thnx man , i already watched all those pretty vedios , i got some stuff from that this is good but i want more , i want to know more professional things , i started also to read the professional asp.net of written by the wrox group , but they always talk abt the VWD i dono why , i don't see TableAdapter , SQLDataSource,DataSets ......... they always use wizards , i know it is pretty easy , good and .... but i need to know what is inside , how sqldatasource for example works ? what is it ? why sqldatasource instead then using a dataset with tables & rows & stuff see ?

I have a login form, when I click the submit button, the code checks the users name and the password in the database if it is available, but it checks the password without its case(e.g.: the string "nour" is similar to the string "NOUR")
How can I control the password to be case sensitive?
