not sure it does externally (On Disk) but I think .NET does support internally "FRAMES" for any image.

Created a new prog and still happens.
Interesting update, i have tried the prog on my desktop and that works fine, could it be something do with my res:
my laptop is 1280x800- error occurs
my desktop is 1280x1024- nowt wrong!
So, its either a driver issue or a res issue, anyone head of anything else like this?
FYI, my laptop runs on a 15.4" widescreen dell, radeon 1150 integrated graphics,
Desktop runs a 19" nvidia 7300gs pci-e

I would like to dynamically control foreground and background color at the cell level within a DataGrid control on a Windows Form. Can someone either point me to an article on the topic or provide some code that would do this? Thanks.

I am building a program using VB .NET 2003 that needs to find a specific window and then set focus to it.
I am not sure whether to use the findwindow or getwindow function and then how do I set focus to it after it is found?

No, it won't. You have also specified the MustInherit, which demands the developer instantiate a derived (inherited) class only. It will not permit you to instantiate this class.

Yes sorry. I had another error that permitted me to create the object. After correcting it the compiler has prompted with the error that I couldn't create the object as it was mustinherit declared.

Hi! I have seen some side-tab-bars, but I didn't find any beautiful. Do you know a place where there is side-tab-bars like the one in MSN, or the one in the "My Project" in Visual Studio 2005?
Greetings.. Winmedia !!

Those tab controls are either custom built, or they have a custom design (possibly done with Style Sheets). I couldn't find any articles on how to build ones similar, but it shouldn't be hard.

Hi!
I would like to know, how to make a layout in VB.NET, which floats (i dont know if it's the right word for the NO BORDER style or splash style), and then make it moveable and size-able. Just like the msn-window, or the winamp window.
Is that possible? Do you have a tutorial or an article of how to make it, or a sourcecode?
Greetings .. Winmedia!

Try Using a table layout control with two columns and zero rows. Set it's dock property to fill so it takes up all the form space. In the left column, i'd add a split container and have it split vertical (if possible). That should get you started.

I just recently built an online recruiting application and when the submit button is hit, the form data is sent to a flat file. It work fine but VS 2005 gives me a pop up message that says.
c:\inetpub\wwwroot\website.com\app.text
This file has been modified outside of the source editor. Do you want to reload it?
Yes Yes To All NO No to All
How do I stop this message box from popping up?
Thanks in advance

Try using a Try Catch statement.

Johnathan,
The message box is popping up within 2005 because the file app.text is being modified outside of the ide (most likly by your application). Closing the tab "app.text" should solve your issue. The VS Ide is sometimes too smart for its own good.

I am working on this application where i should use the application to scan a picture or take one from a digital camera. I have heard suggestion about using a twain software as a third party to interact with vb.net so as to get this done. My problem is that where can i find one that that is free without limitations...I have found this one cal vintasoftTwain... but i neet a registration key for it..because it is limited from all the stuff i need to get done. It cannot save the picture, can only scan it and it keep showing that i need to register it before using it..
can anyone help in soucing a free Twain software so my project can get on the road.. i am stock..if you guys have any suggestion i am open to take it....

Hi,
Does anyone know where I can find a book or some other resource for translating C++ code to VB.NET?
Thanks,
Zenly.

There isn't one. C++ doesn't translate directly to VB.NET. You actually have to known both lanugages and have a pretty good understanging of what the C++ code you're trying to translate is doing.

How easy is it to do?
I have a list of radio buttons, and when i select one and hit the button, i want the document to appear in a new window.
