You mean SQL Server ? It makes more sense for a distributed application, for sure.
Glad to help

Hello,
i've made an extended aero glass form with the DwmExtendFrameIntoClientArea.
The problem now is, that i cannot see the text, because the ForeColor is Black and Vista makes everything is black transparent (like the glass effect), so how get i my text in black there?
I know, i can draw the text, but i have so much controls and have there an textbox control, so i can't draw easily the text.
Look at the MediaPlayer, at the bottom margin, there is the text of the song and so on and that's not drawed, but with an white shadow.
Can somebody help me to get my Text in Black?

I did the following steps:
1. Created a report using SQL Reporting Services. (OK)
2. Deployed the project (ABC) into the ServerX. (OK)
3. Opened the SQL Reporting Services using the Report Manager on localhost of the ServerX. (OK)
4. Opened the ABC folder. Files deployed. (OK)
5. Created two subscriptions. One (Service1) for printing to the Printer. One (Service2) for saving into a file. (OK)
6. Opened the Service1. In the View Tab, after entering the Report Parameters, clicked on "View Report". (OK)
7. I expected view to show what I viewed in the Project (ABC). (NOK - It printed a wrong format. Alignment was completely different)
8. Tried to export to a TIFF file expecting to see the same view as I saw in the Project (ABC). (NOK - It printed a wrong format. Alignment was completely different)
9. Tried to export to a PDF file expecting to see the same view as I saw in the Project (ABC). (NOK - It printed a wrong format. Alignment was completely different)
10. In the subscriptions, I ran the Service1 to print the report from the SQL Reporting Services directly onto the Printer. (NOK - It printed a wrong format. Alignment was completely different)
Is this an expected issue with SQL Reporting Services which incase doesnt make any sense to use it. Or it is an issue with my code. All I assumed that I should expect from SQL Reporting Services is: if I create a Report and I preview the Report, I should get a WYSIWYG formats.
Half the way through our project, we are completely stuck up. SOS!!!

Hi there,
Ive been working on a simple VB project for work now for a few months on and off. Its a very simple project, just opening and closing forms, nothing complicated as i have very little experience with programming. Its more for presentations sake than anythin functional.
Its due pretty soon, and of course, somethings gone wrong.
When I build the solution, i get three errors.
1. Could not copy temporary files to the output directory.
2. The file 'Name.exe' cannot be copied to the run directory. The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
3. The file 'Name.pdb' cannot be copied to the run directory. The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
There is nothing else running on the computer at the moment and i cant think of anythin i could have done for this to happen.
If anyone could help me out with this, i would greatly appreciated it
Thanks for your time,
Peter

Has a reboot fixed your issue? Obviously something is locking your build files (Name.Exe & .Pdb) If that does not work try chaning your build folder. Project->Properties Click the Build Tab. In the output section Change "Output Path"

how to create login page in vb.net?
hello
|
|
|
|
|
Well, you can use a template login page by selecting Add New Object > Login Form . Or you could create your own using a textbox, then matching the value of the textbox to a password.
Trinity: Neo... nobody has ever done this before.
Neo: That's why it's going to work.

response.redirect <page_name> %>

hi swathi,
if u are asking the navigation from one winform to another...then do this.
take 2 text boxes (TxtUid, TxtPwd), and a button (BtnSumbit)
Login.vb, Welcome.vb are 2 forms
Private Sub BtnSubmit_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles BtnSubmit.Click
Dim Userid As String
Dim Password As String
Userid = "Max"
Password = "Ruby"
Note: i just hard-coded user id and password here. but u have to change the code according to ur requirement. i mean if u want to validate the user id, and password with Database values then just modify the code accordingly
If Me.TxtUid.Text = Userid And Me.TxtPwd.Text = Password Then
Welcome.Show()
Me.Close()
End If
End Sub
End Class
if u want to access the login form values(user id, password values), then first, u need to set the modifiers property of the text boxes to Public. (by default the modifier for the text boxes are "friend"), then just access the values just assaining the first form name.control name.text = from2.control name.text.
if this is not what u r asking about, then please post ur question in detail.
thanks,
Rahi

i want to use Dijkstra algorithm to find the shortest path.
the node is fix. what i found from other source code is quite advanced where user can DRAW the node and the direction.
for my case, my node is fix and direction is fix, nothing is changing. i just want to find the shortest path, for example A to G, the shortest path is
A -> C -> D -> G. that's all.
i just need the source code to find the shortest path providing i have the matrix done. thx.
i am kind of urgent. thx!

Why does this smell of homework? Google results[^] for "Dijkstra vb". The second link down is an article right here on CP.

That's just telling you it can't find the help to tell you what is wrong. Are you sure your pinvoke signatures are right ?

OK - VB6 is crap to start with. There are probably some commercial grids, but I thought people mostly used the flexgrid.
