Then get it before you start, get it when it's finished, take one from t'other et voila - how long it took

hi there:
in asp.net 1., just simply right-click at web references node in your solution -> add web reference...I belive it the same in asp.net 2.0 (maybe in another way)

Well it is same in asp.net 2, but the problem is that the web-service, i am trying to access, doesn't have a URL. right now i just did it by creating its virtual directory in IIS. but I am sure it must have a default URL to access it. I want to access it using that default URL.

I'm not sure what you mean about the default URL...you can click on the link web services on the local machine...to browse all web services....

Hi guys,
Just a quick question about PDF documents. Is it possible to access PDF's using .Net 2.0 to access its meta data? I am wanting to build a repeater of PDF's in a folder on my website and use the file's title meta data as the hyperlink text, and then built the navigateurl property with the file name.
Any hints or nudges would be greatly appreciated : )

Hi,
I need to hide the IE toolbar of the main window (not popup window). Please help me to solve this problem.
Thanks in Advance

You can't do that. The only time that you have any control over what is visible in a window is when you open a new window using window.open .

We are using the VS 2005 for the development. Totally 4 persons are in the team. The source project is in the central contact system # 1. While others will be using the same project in network. There's no problem in accessing the project or deploying it. The problem is when one among the four saves the project, the alert message comes as,
"The file has been modified outside of the source editor.
Do you want to reload it ?"
While programming its becoming havoc to us and very disturbing. Can we just stop this alert box or is there any alternate way to solve this ?
Regards,
Abul.

You shouldn't have more than one person working on the same project files, they should all be working on a local copy.
Otherwise, it's just asking for disaster.

If your are in the need to work as a group in a project, then you have to use Source Safes. Visual Studio 6.0 comes with Visual Source Safe 6.0 which is a good Source Safe..

hi all
i am develop a application use ASP.net 2.0.
i use UserControl but have problem. When i load usercontrol in codebehide is event of usercontrol not run
EX:
protected void LinkButton1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
//demo is htmltablecell runat="server"//
demo.Controls.Clear();
UserControl control = (UserControl)Page.LoadControl("WebUserControl1.ascx");
demo.Controls.Add(control);
}
WebUserControl1.ascx contain button but event postback of button is not run
|
|
|
|
|
Ah - you mean your dynamically created controls events do not run ? They need to be set up in the loadviewstate method, so that the viewstate for the controls is populated and the events can fire.

thanks
yes i buiding a application load usercontrol dynamically
but can u show me more i still dont understand
Give me Example or some code
|
|
|
|
|
I am not sure how I can make it clearer, You need to overload LoadViewState, and you need to load your control there, otherwise it doesn't exist when it needs to, for it to have it's controlstate restored.

Can you have each option in a Radio Button List be part of a table? So you can control the positioning etc... of the button list options?
Here is what I'm trying to pull off: http://www.codefrog.com/radiopage.gif[^] Last modified: 12mins after originally posted --

I think you can set how they fill the table they create ( how many across, how many down ). If you want more detailed control, I'd imagine you'd want to use a repeater.

i m using the tutorial "href="http://www.sitepoint.com/article/introduction-ado-net/3" to access values from database through ado.net using stored procedure.but its not working.here is my code
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
SqlConnection con= new SqlConnection("////here is my connection string/////");
con.Open();
SqlCommand com = new SqlCommand("ShowSuppliers", con);
com.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure;
//SqlDataReader reader = com.ExecuteReader();
SqlParameter parm = com.Parameters.Add("@txt", SqlDbType.VarChar, 50);
parm.Direction = ParameterDirection.Input;
parm.Value = "US";
SqlDataReader reader = com.ExecuteNonQuery();
while (reader.Read()== true)
{
Response.Write(reader[0].ToString() + " ");
}
reader.Close();
con.Close();
}
and one of problem is whenever i m saving my procedure as in tutorial, it always chages "create PROCEDURE" with "ALTER PROCEDURE"

If you would have provided some more specific information about what you mean by "not working", it would have been easier to spot the error.
The ExecuteNonQuery method does not return a data reader, it only returns an integer that represents the number of records affected. If you want a data reader, you should use the ExecuteReader method instead.
chohanpk wrote: and one of problem is whenever i m saving my procedure as in tutorial, it always chages "create PROCEDURE" with "ALTER PROCEDURE"
That is normal. The create command is only used to create a procedure. The alter command is used to update the procedure when editing it.

but i m following the tutorial.when i m using the executenonquery,it gives the "int " error as u said.and when i m using ExecuteReader before sqlparamerters,as in tutorial,it gives error"Procedure 'ShowSuppliers' expects parameter '@txt', which was not supplied."
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
SqlConnection con= new SqlConnection("Data Source=n-6e9a4f688df44;Initial Catalog=Northwind;Integrated Security=True");
con.Open();
SqlCommand com = new SqlCommand("ShowSuppliers", con);
com.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure;
SqlDataReader reader = com.ExecuteReader();
SqlParameter parm = com.Parameters.Add("@txt", SqlDbType.VarChar, 50);
parm.Direction = ParameterDirection.Input;
parm.Value = "UK";
while (reader.Read()== true)
{
Response.Write(reader[0].ToString() + " ");
}
reader.Close();
con.Close();
}
.and when i used ExecuteReader after sqlparameter it shows nothing on output
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
SqlConnection con= new SqlConnection("Data Source=n-6e9a4f688df44;Initial Catalog=Northwind;Integrated Security=True");
con.Open();
SqlCommand com = new SqlCommand("ShowSuppliers", con);
com.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure;
SqlDataReader reader = com.ExecuteReader();
SqlParameter parm = com.Parameters.Add("@txt", SqlDbType.VarChar, 50);
parm.Direction = ParameterDirection.Input;
parm.Value = "UK";
//SqlDataReader reader = com.ExecuteNonQuery();
//SqlDataReader reader = com.ExecuteReader();
while (reader.Read()== true)
{
Response.Write(reader[0].ToString() + " ");
}
reader.Close();
con.Close();
}
