I am using ASP.net c# to display a report such as this:
There will be one main row and several children rows. And again one main row and children rows. I want this to be displayed in this manner with the option to expand and collapse the children row within the main row.
How do I do this? Can it be done using the DataGrid Web Control?

Hi Developers
Can you please guide me how to add OptGroup in ASP.net DropDownlist. List elements will be populated from database. Thanks
Lets work it Out.........!

The built-in control does not support this attribute, that means you'll need a custom control instead. Here's an example from CP[^].

Thanks for your help its realy nice control But problem is that im using ASP.net 1.1.
So what to do with 1.1???
Lets work it Out.........!

I guess that you can easily convert the control to the ASP.NET 1.1, IMO the main thing here is that you have to override the RenderXXX methods to inject the tag optgroup to the control output markup.

Technically not ASP.NET, but close enough....I'm writing ASP.NET when I have this problem....
Can somebody tell me why all my friggin windows and toolbars (Toolbox, Solution Explorer, Properties) etc. move every time I debug? I got 3 displays running; the center display has the main VS window, the right display has my toolbars and windows, and the left I use to display the browser. Every time I close the browser, some but not all my toolbars move from my right hand display to the center display. WHY???? This is frickin irritating. I know I could probably use key command (such as F4 to open the properties window), but that's why I have 3 displays....
Someone help me before I throw this dang box out the window.

You should parse content of retrieved page to find all external objects on page - , , <STYLE> tags attributes to find images, scripts and CSS linked by <code>@import</code> directive; <OBJECT> tag for flash movies and so on.
All Web Crawlers work in that way...

This is C#

c:\inetpub\wwwroot\feedbakdemo\WebForm1.aspx.vb(36): '.' expected.
This suggests the compiler is expecting VB.NET

This is c# declaration. You've either created a VB.NET application, or you have to declare variables as:
Dim usr as String.

Help you what?

Do you mean the main menu for your site. Would any one else here recommend creating a menu driven by a database. Surely that would put alot of weight on your DB. Also if it failed your site wouldn't/couldn't show!

I think you meant to reply to the original message, not mine.

You can do it when the application starts, thus it will only run once. But, overall, you are correct. It's not the greatest way to do it.

You can create an application/session object, and instantiate it once.

At session start or application start, create an instance and place it in the session or application object. Subsequent pages will be able to access the object via that same session/application object.

HI,
I would like to size a label control or simply a Div in my webform but i can't. I fact, i try to put the height = 5px but it doesn't work. It seems that you can't get a size smaller on your control. Maybe the controls have a minimum size ?
SomeOne could help me ?
