I'm having trouble creating a vb form that will authenticate to AD. Can someone point me in the right direction please.

Hi All,
I was wondering if it's possible to make a form pop up in a specific area of the window?
For example if a button is pressed that calls form2, can I get form2 to pop up in a certain area of the window.

Me.DesktopLocation = p
where p is a point.

how do I specify the point?
for example I want it to be in 559, 546 but when i do
Me.DesktopLocation = 559,546 it doesnt work (doesnt work when it's in brackets either).

You have to declare a New Point. Like this:

Hi ALL!
I wrote a very small app which reads out the cell values in excel and "Sendkey"s them to another application. I would firstly Send an 'alt tab' to set focus on the receiving application. Then basically flush all of the cell values.
E.g. of code used:
Application.Sendkeys "%{tab}", True
Application.Sendkeys ActiveCell.Value, True
Now, the problem is that it used to work perfectly on my old slow ass donkey machine. I recently got a newer, slicker machine and it just doesnt write the values to the application. It 'alt tabs' but just doesnt write them.
Any suggestions?
I will consider looking into AppActivate instead of 'alt tab'.

I have discovered that Excel 2003 likes to choose when to send the alt key (%).
If I edit the code and save it, then run it. it works fine.
If I open the xls file and just run it, it does not work.
Please can anyone tell me how to get excel to send the alt key every time?
I have tried "Application.Sendkeys" and "Sendkeys".

note the extra 'Event' - accesses the hidden VB <event>Event variable.

I need to store the controls backcolor in DB, and on reload, again i need to get color from DB and set as controls backcolor.
How do i convert the system.drawing.color.green to string "Green" and vice versa.

Nah, don't waste time to write a function just get the control color and convert it to string.

I would like be able to open up a .jpg file from the open file dialog and then have the selected picture appear in a picture box, for submitting to a database at a later stage. Is this easily done?

Don't forget to clear previous image, and there's no filepath property in the openfiledialog, remember that. So use filename instead.

I was wondering if anyone knows how I can create a DB Job and schedule it to run automatically at reqular intervals, from VB .NET code. I am trying to write an application side interface to the scheduling system that is available in the MSSQL Server 2005, SQL Agent.
I have been looking for information on this for awhile now and anyhelp would be much appreciated.
