The table in the database must first hold another field for storing the rich text of your RTB object. The field should be of type varchar(255) if your text never extends more than 255 characters. If 255 chars aren't enough, you can instead use a field of type text.
Once this is in place, you can add a parameter to your Stored Procedure, and have the procedure write the inputted text to the database. You do not need to convert the rich text box's RTF to bytes first. (FWIW, you were trying to conver the whole RTF to a single byte, which of course won't work.) Just pass the RTF in as the parameter value, no conversion needed, and it should work.

Hello,
I have created a simple window application (DVD player) using DirectShow, Visual C# in .NET Framework 2 enviroment.
How can I create a single file that can be downloaded from internt out of all my codes so the end user simply can download and install my simple home-made window application and use it?
I also would like to know if they need anything specific on thier computer or just the simple windows OS is enough as thier platform to run my simple window application?
Thank you guy for helping out and have a great day.

to tell the truth I don't get the "out of all my codes" part, but I guess you want to create an instalation file.. in your solution (i guess you're using visual studio) add a setup project..
the othear way is using click-once (project->preferences->publish)
life is study!!!

Hi everyone,
well I got two simple questions I wanna ask so here they are:
1. How can I lock the combobox (in a Windows Application) so that its text isnt editable but you can select the values from it?
2. What is the regular expression for a natural number (0,1,2...) that I can use to validate a field for a zero or positive number?
thanks in advance
Rocky

1. I think you have to set the DropDownStyle property to ComboBoxStyle.DropDownList .
2. [0-9]+

I post this under C# as there is no Crystal-Specific category, and I use C#.
I am using an online report viewer to view Crystal Reports. The viewer inherits from ReportDocument, and I am able to access the ReportDocument in code.
I am attempting to retrieve the following from the report:
1. The values of the parameters sent to the stored procedure which returns data to the parent-level report. (I am able to see the parameter names in ParameterFields)
2. The values returned to the parent-level report by this stored procedure.
3. The values that are displayed by the report once incomming data has been processed by the formulas on the report.
(The above would apply for subreports as well.)
As yet I have not succeeded, and was hoping someone may be able to shed some light on this issue, if it is possible.
Thanks
chazv

How do you work with relative file paths?
Scenario: I have an XML file that I want to reference in my code but want to use a relative file path versus a literal file path. I am having some trouble finding a consistent answer on MSDN or the web in general.
Thank you for your help.
If you ain't cheatin'...then you ain't tryin'

Can you explain your problem a bit more clearly please. If you want to work with relative paths then you might want to take a look at the System.IO.Path.Combine method.
|
|
|
|
|
I assume you looking for the following. This specifies a path relative to the directory containing the executable of your application.
Application.StartupPath + Path.DirectorySeparatorChar + yourRelativePath

Hi,
I m willing to use Dundas Charting Tool to draw 3D Charts in Windows Forms in .Net 2.0
I want to generate a chart having all 3 axes plotted on the screen i.e. X(Customer_acctbal),Y(supplier_acctbal) and Z(Compilation Cost).
The requirement is in as shown in the image below.
My questions are:
1) Is this possible to draw using Dundas Charts?
2) If yes, then please guide us how to generate charts using all the 3 axes ,if possible, kindly provide sample project/code to do so.
Thanks & Regards.
Vikas.

This would be better asked and answered by Dundas. There may not be many people here who have the Dundas library.
1) Surely this can be answered by looking at the Dundas website where they have some sample graphs with are in 3D
2) If it is at all possible then there will be in all likely hood samples in either the documentation or on the website.
PS, I do know this is possible but seeing this can be answered by some simple research I'm not going to bother doing it for you when you have the documentation at your fingertips and I dont.

Why not get in touch with the author by posting this question on the forum? They are the most likely person to be able to help you.
